Backup of vDS

Is the process described here [https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/6.7/com.vmware.vsphere.networking.doc/GUID-9B33EBCE-1BCC-4362-9BE5-4F477056B169.html](https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/6.7/com.vmware.vsphere.networking.doc/GUID-9B33EBCE-1BCC-4362-9BE5-4F477056B169.html) Going to save everything I need in order to allow me to recover in case my upgrade from 6.7 to 7.0 goes awry? I have a single vDS with 10 port groups.

  1. Everything related to the vDS? That’s my understanding. You’re upgrading vCSA? Your old one will still be available if something goes wrong so you can just flip back if needed.

  2. It should but if you are upgrading from 6.7 to 7.0, then you are going to be deploying a new appliance and migrating the data anyway. If there is an upgrade issue, just power off the new 7.0 appliance and power on what ever old 6.7 box you were using. You should be able to pick up right where you left off.
