Creating an Optimized Win10 VM for Workstation

Hi all,

I work at a company and my boss is asking me to create a lightweight win 10 vm for our QA team to download off our dropbox for testing purposes etc. I am to make this as small and optimized as possible so its not a big pain to download etc.

Was wondering if there were any specific guides for this?

All I can find from vmware is [https://www.vmware.com/content/dam/digitalmarketing/vmware/en/pdf/techpaper/vmware-view-horizon-7-windows-10-optimize-virtual-desktop.pdf](https://www.vmware.com/content/dam/digitalmarketing/vmware/en/pdf/techpaper/vmware-view-horizon-7-windows-10-optimize-virtual-desktop.pdf)

but this seems aimed at creating a VDI gold image for use for VMware horizon

I am wondering if it can apply to what I’m doing or not. They recommend using the optimization tool but that is specifically geared for horizon and needs to hook up with an esxi server I believe which I’m not using.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!
