Horizon 7.10 application remoting

I’m trying to set up application remoting on a Horizon 7.10 instance. I went through the provisioning steps and marked the desktop pool as one that services applications. I then went into applications inventory and added an app (Calculator) from the desktop pool (which it successfully read automatically). Whenever I try to launch it, I get the error “No machines in the pool support application remoting”.

I’ve looked around and can’t seem to find any documentation on what I’m doing wrong. That same pool delivers desktops just fine, so I don’t believe it to be a permissions issue. Is there another setting I’m missing?

Update: I went through removed/reinstalled the Horizon agent and it ended up working. My problem must have been I upgraded from 7.8 to 7.10.

New problem: Now, whenever I launch an application delivered in this method, I get the start menu and taskbar of the host machine superimposed over the client. Is this intended?

  1. You are saying desktop pool, but do you mean farm? You have to provision application remoting for rdsh on farms. Desktop pools can do application publishing too since 7.9 but that setup is different.

Did you provision a farm or a desktop pool? Or a desktop pool on a farm?
