how to auto start a virtual machine after rebooting host PC?

after I reboot my PC – I want some VM machines to auto power on

hmm how to do that on auto?

when I try to drag the VM into “Shared VMs”

it tells me:

>**The VMware workstation server is not available**

hmm

I read that it might be an install bug or so …

  1. Create a startup script and enter the info below.

    “C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmrun” -T ws start “C:\Virtual Machines\Alpha\Alpha.vmx”

    You will need to edit the paths to point to your VM you want to start and verify vmrun is installed in the default location

  2. I’ve got my set up as a scheduled task to start at logon:

    Action. Start a Program

    Program script:

    “C:Program Files (x86)VMwareVMware Workstationvmrun.exe”

    Add Arguments:

    -t ws start X:pathtoyourvmxxxxxx.vmx

    Replace X: with your drive letter and the xxxxxx with your vm name
