Monday morning PSOD

Anyone got any ideas on what this error may have been triggered by? Totally at random on a Monday morning and obviously we weren’t changing anything over the weekend!

Could it be one of the issues resolved in the latest ESXi 6.7 patches (ESXi670-202008001), we have been slowly upgrading our hosts to this latest update but will get our skates on if neccessary! 🙂

  1. You can search for the function names presented on the stacktrace, for example in your case: “igbn_XmitPacket indrv_UplinkTx UplinkDevTransmit”, then you’ll find following KB: [https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/67686](https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/67686).

This is a bug in Intel’s driver. Update to suggested version and you should be fine. However also make sure your hardware vendor supports the specific driver version you’re installing – you can also check VMware’s HCL for that.
