New vSAN cluster networking guidance

vSAN novice here. Will be implementing a 4 node cluster very soon. Each node will have 4x 10gb nics. Have two 10gb ToR switches for the implementation. Can anyone point me to some good documentation/blogs/etc on switch configurations for this setup. Have configured switches before but only with very basic configurations.

Taking vSAN 3 day training course next week but not sure how much they get into physical switch setups.

Any help to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Glossing over details, the quick answer is…

-Dedicate a VLAN to vSAN traffic
-Configure jumbo frames (MTU 9000) for the ToR switch, vDS, and ESXi hosts’ vSAN interface.
-Consider using LACP to provide better availability and bandwidth utilization.
-Avoid using Cisco FEXs (fabric extenders).
-Consider using all four interfaces for vSAN traffic, and using NIOC to ensure vSAN (or other services) don’t consume the entire link.
