  1. This sub is going to roast you with that attitude.

If you don’t have the ability to determine for yourself how to get to VCP-NV, I don’t expect you’ll be able to get it in the first place.

  2. I’m getting this cert soon too. I plan on doing CBTNuggets videos, reading a book which I have not decided which, and doing practice questions to review everything. I purchased a Hades Canyon Nuc with 32 gigs of ram and will be doing my labs there.

  3. Just sat and passed this exam a couple of weeks ago, for nsx-t.

You’ll need to know your stuff fairly well!

Architecture, how it all works, cli inside and out and for KVM and this isn’t including surprise questions lol.

  4. I did the VMware on-demand training course with Tim Burkard. I found the training to be quite useful and thorough (this was the NSX-V 6.4 course). I built a lab at home and another at the office with some old gear. I passed on the first try but the test wasn’t easy by any stretch.

I don’t think it would be impossible to pass this without a class, but I think it would be very very difficult unless you have significant experience with the product.

Also, I would target the NSX-T exam and not bother with V. Unless you’re a consultant who will be handling V to T migrations for customers there’s a good chance you’ll never use V.
