VMware

upgrade path 6 to 6.7

by consulting compatibility guide ( [https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/sim/interop_matrix.php#upgrade&solution=2](https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/sim/interop_matrix.php#upgrade&solution=2) ) i can see that i can upgrade my virtual env from 6.0 U3 to 6.7.

Do you see any reason i should not skip 6.5 and upgrade to 6.5 not to 6.7. all hardware is already new and no problem with hardware/server compatibility.

  1. Are you using any external applications (VDI, back-up, monitoring, etc.) which might not be compatible with 6.5/6.7 in it’s current state (as in: needs updating first)?

Otherwise I’d just go for a direct upgrade to 6.7

  2. If you use vsan, going to 6.7 is an automatic 32gb per host memory allottment. Depending on your memory capacity and usage that could be a deal breaker.
