vCenter not detecting one vm

I have 15 vm’s on vsphere, all registered with vcenter.

I cloned one of these VM’s, and gave it a new MAC address. I also renamed the VM a couple of times, not sure if its relevant.

When I look at the new VM’ settings in vSphere, it says it is being managed by vCenter. So far so good.

However in vCenter, this new VM is not listed (including in the ‘Discovered VMs’ directory I’ve seen vCenter create in the past).

How can I resolve this?

  1. Could try removing from inventory where you can see it, then browsing the data store and registering it again? (or just skip to browsing the DS and registering it, will fail if the VC thinks it’s already there)
