here's the thing even if it's not real getting that level of emotional investment in something other than your partner is cheating. I'm Polyamorous and I don't think it's wrong for people to get that attached to multiple people/things but if you are committed to a monogamous relationship then you need to be open with them and connect more strongly with them than with anything else. it makes sense for someone to be upset that you got romantically attached outside of your monogamous relationship.
I appreciate the dedication to "play the ball where it lies" with these stories and give a perspective of the story at face value even if they think it's not true.
Because whenever someone questions the veracity of the stories, it's always something that wouldn't actually crack the top 5 list of craziest shit I've personally seen happen.
