VMware Workstation NAT Disconnects

Running into a really funky issue here. We have a brand new laptop with Windows 10 2004 and Workstation 15.5.7 that is having connectivity issues with guests. When I select NAT, the VM will get internet for about 1-2 minutes after a reboot and then will just disconnect and the gateway will not be pingable. Link status is still up, however. I have checked that the VMware NAT and DHCP service are running, tried restoring network settings in the virtual network editor, deleting the existing NAT VMnet and creating a new NAT VMnet, all to no avail. Bridge mode works though, internet connectivity is fine in that mode. However we have a need to run the VMs in NAT mode. What am I missing?

  1. Do you have any security software running on the network that might be blocking the access? I had a similar issue when we implemented Cisco ISE.
