ProLiant DL380p Gen8 – esx.problem.boot.filesys… |VMware Communities

In Vcentre  – we started to see this “esx.problem.boot.filesystem.down”

I have see this issue before and in the past  – we put host in maint mode and restarted server issue gone – probelm reading storage –

We have two server in out cluster of 10 with internal SD – Server is a  ProLiant DL380p Gen8 with esxi configured to boot of the onboard flash card – the servers are 05 & 06 both with same error.

However today was not an issue reading the card but the card has failed – unknown to me – reatrted 06 and its now dead no ESXi as memeory was flushed.

I can putty the 05 server – and see ESXi O/S esxi it has been installed and is running in memory from a failed SD card onboard – so we will not touch this.

Very dangerous position lucky we have capacity.

Anyone think how to retreive the OS from resident memory to flash to a new SD card ?

Any thoughts – good ideas?

thanks

John
