  1. I never thought of how they hit with such heavy bats back in the day. Did no one ever e think hey if it’s lighter I will swing it faster among other things that will be better. They didn’t change how they lathe bats over the years just different woods maybe

  2. It really shows you how strong babe Ruth was well just athletes back then in general most athletes way back grew up in harsh environments or lived on farms which where most of their strength came from

  3. Pitching speed was not that much slower. Think about it. Some high school kids can hit 90 with raw talent. That's not anything new.
I threw 75 in high school in 1996. I never trained to be a pitcher, I played 1st base.

  4. Why do you say it's impossible to swing a 45 ounce bat when you're doing it yourself, and making the highest exit velocity of any of your own hits? How fast is your pitching machine set on? The faster the pitch the farther the exit speed. The top pitchers in Ruth's day were pitching FASTER than today due to the 16 inch mound (lowered to 10 inches now).

45 ounce bats no good? Maybe that's how Ruth did it. Did you ever think that?
