“The Baseball Bat Bros”
Today we’re trying out a couple bats from American Batsmith’s new Vintage Collection – these bats replicate the exact turn model, wood species, and weight/length of the bats used by Babe Ruth, Shoeless Joe Jackson, Jackie Robinson, Honus Wagner, Mickey Mantle, and a few others.

I suppose Mantle, Ruth, Wagner and Shoeless Joe would've been still better hitters had they indulged in PED's like McGwire, Bonds, Sosa and Rodriguez did.
Nothing like "A nice piece of ash" that you can "barely get your hands around."
y is bro dansby swanson
I never thought of how they hit with such heavy bats back in the day. Did no one ever e think hey if it’s lighter I will swing it faster among other things that will be better. They didn’t change how they lathe bats over the years just different woods maybe
now to think he hit 575ft with that thing is crazy
Nice
I mean there's film of the baseball God pointing and then smashing the homer. What else do you need?
His back must have been shot after this video
Bob Feller threw over 100 kid
It really shows you how strong babe Ruth was well just athletes back then in general most athletes way back grew up in harsh environments or lived on farms which where most of their strength came from
Those dudes from that bygone age grew up in the iron age ,everything was heavy and required effort and strength.
Please learn how to pronounce Honus correctly. Show some respect
Pitching speed was not that much slower. Think about it. Some high school kids can hit 90 with raw talent. That's not anything new.
I threw 75 in high school in 1996. I never trained to be a pitcher, I played 1st base.
Where did you get the bats from??
I'm imagining all those left field home runs are bouncing off one poor bastard's car.
Babe Ruth's used a 54 oz hickory bat, Ty Cobb and Joe Di Maggio's 42 oz bats, and Rogers Hornsby's 50 oz bat.
6:45
I bet that is heavy 😂
If you grow up swinging 40oz bats, when you get to be an adult it doesn't feel heavy. It feels normal.
lol there's houses and cars beyond those fences that are just getting smoked
Had babe Ruth only been a position player he would have probably variety speaking had over 800 home runs
That shows how strong those players were back then
Terrific Swing No Matter What Bat You Use
Dude how tired/sore were you the next day?
I’m curious to know what bat did Jackie Robinson use ?
Bruh can rake.
seeing you swing the older bat replicas made me realize why they used to swing that way lol
Why do you say it's impossible to swing a 45 ounce bat when you're doing it yourself, and making the highest exit velocity of any of your own hits? How fast is your pitching machine set on? The faster the pitch the farther the exit speed. The top pitchers in Ruth's day were pitching FASTER than today due to the 16 inch mound (lowered to 10 inches now).
45 ounce bats no good? Maybe that's how Ruth did it. Did you ever think that?
