The game doesn't look bad, but I can't help but imagine the alternate reality where we got Hyper Light Drifter 2, in the style of the original game, instead of a 3D open world roguelike. I just can't understand why you would make the complete opposite style of game from the original.

This looks nowhere near as good as the previous game and I feel fans will be deeply disappointed by it. The gameplay looks choppy, the characters uninspired, and the landscape – uninteresting.
And why is it set in stark daylight and oversaturated set pieces? Did they ditch the gritty post-apocalyptic setting from Drifter or just forget it existed?
