Alright so this short video we migrate a windows vm from esxi 8.0 to proxmox.
You will need the following:
OVFTOOL Link
Commands you will use after installing:
ovftool vi://root@hostip/vmname /storageonproxmox
qm importovf 333…

What I have seen being done to migrate vms off of vSphere is that they would enable the NFS server on proxmox, import that share as a Datastore in vSphere and do a storage live migration to it. Then you can easily import the vmdk without much fuss
