I loved the story reminded me an episode of Cowboy Bebop, tho in Bebop it was a comatose guy's dream that was connected to the server was terrorising using religion.
It's a cute story. I appreciate your leaving Christianity out of it. Using Catholicism is a perfect fit as it is a complete perversion of what Jesus and The New Testament makes abundantly clear on gaining Salvation through, The Way, The Truth, and The Light. The ONLY way to The Father is through me. Somehow they here, thank his flawed human mother and use a flawed human male as a middle name. Oh and violate little boys because of disobedience to be fruitful and multiple. Just a bunch of savages.
With MCP back in the swing of things, it’s time we have the conversation of continuing the “My Tiny Town Just Got Put On LockDown” & the “Jeff the Killer 2015” series. We need conclusions to those stories.

With all respect to the author, I have to say this one disappointed me. It’s vastly better than a ton of other stories, mind you, but the title and concept are so strong and eerie that I would’ve loved for it to land on its feet by the end. Sadly, after the MCs friend is found dead and he hardly reacts, the AI monologues about wanting worship, and it ends with a short sermon… I don’t know. I guess I wanted more. Credit to this author though for a wonderful concept and a very solid opening… sadly, the details lost me a tad.

This is already happening. There are many Christian’s who have said that they’d rather have a good sermon from and AI pastor, than a mediocre sermon from a human being.
Before I found God, I knew AI was sucking the truth out of the human experience. “Proof” of people doing horrible things, can be made by anyone and “proof” absolving them, or creating an alibi, can be created by anyone. Nothing outside of what happens directly in front of us, will be able to be trusted and massive manipulation to extreme actions and ways of thinking, will be able to be carried out with ease.
Truth is in Jesus Christ. He loves you and it has never been more evident, how badly we need Christ, than it is right now.
