  1. Great narrative to match the vintage photography. And while I would have preferred that his trophy remain in his family. With that said, your Sir are worthy a candidate to both own and preserve "The Mighty Steve Reeves" legacy. Enjoy your acquisition.

  2. Once again I am here to Defend the REAL King of Bodybuilding the One and Only the Immortal Steve Reeves. In 1944 Steve Reeves was 18 years old and fighting in WW2, he was NOT "Experimenting" with the Crappy pills being peddled in magazines as the "Cure for Impotency" you guys read about as the 1st form of Synthetic Testosterone. It's an indisputable Fact that the young Men of his Generation had Double or Triple the Testosterone that the Men of 2023 have and they Also had Double the Grip Strength… Steve"s mother was a Nutritionist of the Era so had her guidance on the healthiest of foods. Steve was unquestionably 1 of the most genetically gifted Bodybuilders of All-Time. Sergio Oliva is the only man more naturally gifted than he was. By 1947 Steve was only 21 years old and it's safe to say that he was naturally super high in Testosterone, have you ever heard his Real Voice? Steve sounds like the Singing Legend Barry White! Also by his 1947 Mr. America win Steve was blending his own protein shakes made from Skim Milk Powder with Goat's Milk and fresh fruit… So Yeah! Steve Reeves invented his own protein fruit smoothies way back in 1947. He also used to drink a blend of Water with Honey & Lemon to stay Hydrated during his long 2.5hour long Workouts… So Yeah! In 1947 Steve Reeves basically invented his own version of GATORADE. Steve also made the use of Cable machines and pulleys which at the time wasn't really common among the Olympic Lifters and Bodybuilders. Steve Reeves also made the Incline Dumbell Curl a popular exercise and with the help of George Hackenschmidt, Steve was the originator of Hack Squats except it was a weight attached to his Belt. Steve also made Drop Sets popular but he called them "Descending Sets" and he also did "Super Sets" back then but he called them Alternating Sets… So the point I'm making is that by 21 years old Steve pioneered almost Everything that we do today and give Joe Weider and Arnold Schwarzenegger the Credit for. Joe Weider copied Everything that Steve and John Grimek said about training and in 1950 he called it "The Weider Training Principles"… so Steve Reeves was Already Mr. Pacific Coast, Mr. America, Mr. World and Mr. Universe by the time that Joe made the Weider Training Principles into his business and magazines. As far as the Drugs in Bodybuilding here is a direct Quote from the Fitness industry Tycoon himself…
“If you look at bodybuilders through the years, there were plenty of big, strong men in the '30s and '40s, etc. And before the 1960s and '70s nobody was taking any drugs…" -Joe Weider founder and owner of the IFBB & the Mr. Olympia contest
