try removing a drive and see what happen , if you use proxmox which uses the serial no and model , it reorder the disks .
I have had one of these for about 2 years now and have found the USB connection fails 2 or 3 times a year. have yet to determine why. I have to disconnect it, reboot server and reconnect. Most of the time it works fine.
You just tested ZFS RAM cache. That's why Linux is so much faster. Once you start copying files for real it will evaporate. ZFS is notoriosly hard to benchmark because of the inconsistent impact of cache.
I've been looking at the Sabrent, simply due to its compact size. (Performance isn't critical; I'm just streaming video.) However, some reviews I've seen is that it tends to overheat. Did you notice this?
