“Square Eyed Jak”

I’ve spent 10 years talking about Crash Bandicoot and even longer stockpiling all of the most unhinged fan made games for when nuclear fallout bricks my PS1.
Big shout to ALL of the amazing creators in this video, appreciate your hard work and dedication to the franchise!

  1. 14:12 I'll take that award thanks ๐Ÿ˜€
Lately, I noticed folks following our dev account on Twitter, so I peeked to see if anyone mentioned the game. Your video here gave it some attention, which is awesome.
We've been on a forever hiatus and while we always talk about wanting to finish the game since it was a fun project, no promises for now. glad you enjoy it!

  2. What a fucking legend, happy 10th anniversary, I've kinda always wanted to make my own crash levels too, i sorta got to express that creativity about a decade ago making levels for a Ben10 game on the cartoon network website, those were great, i love seeing all the fan games i never even heard about before, I had known about BetaM's version of crash bash for a while cause i used to watch their speedruns of twinsanity, anyways great video Jak, hope you have a good one mate ^~^

  3. Oh this video was amazing! i actually started watching your channel around 2015 or 2016 when I was on six grade ( I was a dumb kid) and now that Iโ€™m in university almost 21 years old. is freaking fantastic seeing your channel grow so much Jak I love all the videos and how fun they are! Take care and cheers! Greetings from chile! ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

  4. This is a great presentation of this massive list of fan games. Honestly got me a bit nostalgic for the whole flash era in the first chunk of this video. Didn't play many of those games specifically but the trends felt familiar.

I also appreciate the tone you decided to go at these with, which you explained very well. Everything took some time and effort, so even the unfun or unfunny ones deserve some basic respect. Plus you did a nice job talking about what seemed to be the important facets of what it is like to play most of these games, and didn't spend too much time on jokes alone.

I also love everything about the game you ended on, Crash bandicoot Back in Time. It looks very nice and gets the artstyle very right. I'm not even particularly into the Crash games, but I do want to try this one at least. Then you ending on a level you designed in the games editor was thematically perfect for the whole video. Really reminding me of my love for the idea of level design as a kid and teen. Never went far in any regard, but you've kinda inspired me to try getting into simple indie Dev. I've already been considering it, just need the time.

Thanks a bunch for the video, it's well put together as usual and you kept the subject interesting even to me!!

  5. damn boy, 10 fuckin' years? we're the same age and you're making me feel older. I'm pretty sure I found you by googling 'crash bandicoot video' and finding your Crash 2 video back then because at the time I was looking for any information about a new game. your channel was always special to me because being the same age as you, (year younger) we have nostalgia for the same stuff and it was always to me like the AVGN but for the specific stuff I was growing up with, Crash, Tony Hawk, Spyro, Jak & Daxter, etc. us old school ps1 kids gotta stick together. glad to see ya doing well and thriving. keep on doing what you do brother.

  6. I've been watching your videos for what seems like forever, dude! It's crazy to think I started tuning in when I was just 12. Time really flies! I made Crashes Revenge when I was a kid, and gotta admit, my voice was cringe-worthy, I'm laughing my ass off watching clips of my old game, haha! Your content rocks, man. Feeling pretty honored at the moment.

  7. great video Jak deffently going to give the crash bash games a try and man talk about a blast from the pass not only did i play Crash Bandicoot flash but even that mini golf game way back in school and i also tried that love letter to the orriganal trillogy i should proberly update it if coco is now playable

  8. Happy 10th Crashiversary Jak! I gotta pay some respects because it was through your Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex review that I stumbled onto back in 2015 that got me into your channel and it's so surreal that so much time has passed since then and you've come so far and what a way to celebrate by giving some attention to the fangames. Personally, I have not played any Crash fan games but I've heard of some of them and seeing some of that old footage definitely took me back. Unfortunately I can't comment on any experiences playing them since like I mentioned before, I haven't but this was still a fun video that gave me some nostalgia for a bygone era of experimentation during that long wait between Mind Over Mutant to the N.Sane Trilogy and I think it's fair to give a hat tip to the dedicated fans who tried to make their own Crash games during that time because goodness it really was a slow-burn waiting for that next official Crash game.
Anyway cheers dude and here's to many more to come!

  9. N. Chant looks like a fusion between Rayman and Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus, which is interesting in the latter case, cause TADC came out 14 years after N. Chanted.
Also, have you ever heard of or played Rayman, Jak?
