Full tutorial on setting up a sons of the forest dedicated server and port forwarding on windows. step-by-step.
There is a written guide and also a steam download for setting up a server but I know some prefer to watch rather than read when it comes to game servers, setting them up and understanding how they work.
You can set this up on your pc at home for your personal/solo use and you can also, with the correct router ports opened, set this up and be made public for your friends to join and play as well.

To access the commands, ensure your an admin as in the video and once in the server press enter for the chat, then type *cheatstick* and press enter again, using the F1 key should now show you the entire console commands to use

Can anyone help me? It says my ports are closed even though i port forward
Server test screen says UDP ports are closed 8766 27016 9700?
When i do the port forwarding am i putting in the public IP or my machines IP?
Any help would be much apricated. This is exciting as this is as far as i have got so far. HAHA
I have a problem when I close the server and open it again The saves back to the first time I save the game even if I save the world it is back to the first save (I couldn't find any way to fix it anywhere)
At 6:44 I never got a prompt telling me to restart the server, my console at this timestamp also looked different, when I opened "userdata" there wasn't anything in there. Does this problem have anything to do with me having a pirated game?
Ive set up a dedi server , all working all good, i wanna customize it abit, for example is there anyway of putting say "loghack on" and having it in the server config file? if so, how would this be written in the server config file? i can do "loghack on" on my PC , but i want it on the dedi server as a permanent..
Followed everything and when I went to run the server, command prompt said all UDPs are closed (using 27015 – 27017). Using my ip address instead of 0.0.0.0 to be able to post public. Anyone else running into this issue?
