Depends on the memory type…but I usually just put a dollop of paste on the dye 😘

Good Thermal paste coverage. I learned quickly with Polaris GPUs that the dab and squish or the x method does not work. Polaris cards needed perfect coverage or they would not handle overclocks. Great video Red fox!
Use a pea size and dont spread. Let the cooler spread the paste. If you have high temps after that , take apart and you will be able to see where you have contact and where not.

I spread the paste on gpu dies and my epyc cpus. Epycs did fine with a bug x and a dot in each quadrant. But, 7742s arent cheap and i dont want to even risk risking it
