  1. The only VN I can think of (other than this one ofc) where you play as the "big" guy is The Smoke Room. Sam is larger than 2 (3 if you count Todd) "love interests" and is about the same size as William. Nik is essentially the only main character who is definitively bigger than Sam.

  2. I always hate the twink protagonists, because I want to believe there's mutual attraction. One of the greatest strengths of the Smoke Room is that Sam is genuinely sexy, a fantastic, service-oriented partner in both sex and romance, and a fascinating character who is far more than a kinda dumb hottie. It's extremely believable that he'd have basically every gay guy in town pining after him. He's so desirable that the story has to create a scenario that limits his options just to have a reasonable amount of route characters

  3. on the topic of twink protagonists. sometimes, even if they have an "average" build that's rather toned and athletic, they often are narrated like an underdog that isn't good at anything. we really need protagonists that, even if they aren't the biggest guy, are really good at something that's relevant to their challenges, and can find their way through the plot, and feel like they can make a sensible difference, even if they have help from others. not someone without insecurities, but someone who is comfortable with what shortcomings they have.

  4. Ive come up with some examples of VNs that dont have a twink, tiny or submissive and breedable MC
The first one that comes to mind is Samuel, who is "built like a brick shithouse", so hes no twink, and you can see that on his sprite.
Killigan's Treasure's MC is a huge and thicc bull, he dwarfs most characters.
Tennis Ace's MC is a hunky athlete.
Shelter's MC is a human, but hes more average-muscular than twinkish.
Tavern of Spear's MC is a hunky warrior dude.

  5. I'm glad you mentioned it because for the longest time it was genuinely impossible to find a FVN where you didn't play as a .weak human/twink. More games that break away from this have been cropping up recently and I couldn't be happier that we as a fandom have evolved

  6. By the sounds of it, if never underestimate Kah's power of "I know a guy"

Agree with Toaster, A+ start thus far. Has intrigue and tension but everything is made very clear so far. PoV also isn't clueless about the situation he is in, despite being unaware of the world, so it doesn't feel like you're straddled with the generic airhead protagonist.
Even pacing wise the story so far is solid. The PoV realizes that he and Tav can't have much of a dialog and it immediately introduces Stinky to keep things moving.
