I’ve been using the same editing rig for a good while… but it isn’t been without its fair share of issues! I think it’s time for a change – something COMPLETELY…

Do you have links for both the air cooler you didn't end up using, as well as the AIO you did end up with?
I wish I could build pcs like this when I felt like building my pc I realized how much I love and enjoy it
It's refreshing to see a build video where someone commentates during the actual build. Getting tired of the music videos that go with PC building.
Meshify-C and DarkRock Pro do not touch. I have a system like that for years and no issues. It looks like it touches, but it doesn't.
Did you check the Event Log? Sounds like GPU driver crash for sure, but that would be logged unless you have a severe crash-to-restart – which you described, didn't have.
Love your video's only found Your channel two weeks ago and i am hooked 🙂 do you have a link to the 24 pins Extension cables you used in the video please.
Regards
Andrew
@GregSalazar Have you had the issues since swapping? I had something very similar happening where everything would just go black for a few seconds. It could happen while watching videos, playing games, but nothing specifically reproducible. This started happening around the same time I upgraded to a Alienware 34" Oled (DWF model) and figured I would re-paste and thermal pad my 3080. I thought I had messed something up on my card. After a couple months, I was thinking about upgrading GPU's and wanted to eliminate every possibility before I sold it to a buddy. One thing I did was disable HDR in Windows 11, and immediately I stopped having the issue. Last month I upgraded to a 7900XTX and have not had any issues with turning HDR back on in Windows 11. (I had a whole other fun issue about running down FreeSync Pro Premium not working with my 7900XTX, but that ended up being an issue with DisplayPort 2 on the display not supporting it.) I'm just curious if you had the issue continue since the move to AMD. It was a hard one to research and find people with similar issues, but your issue sounds the closest.
At 15:36 I must agree.
Not a fan of AIO… Air is IMO is better. Over all nice build.
I built my pc with an all dark theme, the 4000D airflow makes life so nice the only light up thing there is is my corsair AIO which makes my pc look like a nuclear reactor
Black screen for 10 sec = Bad GPU drivers
-best way to attempt to fix this is event viewer. except my machine has a different intermittant issue where it randomly will pause inputs. if you have a video playing you might never know unless you run out of buffer. then it all comes back but nothing in event viewer
the explorer crash/black screen for few seconds thing i have had as well on both my intel/rtx and amd setup on video editing or better said after video editing when looking through the big amount of videos inside my folders…turned out (at least i thought so at the time) it was my ssd drive which was actually a new one…switched it out with another of the same ssd and problem was solved…for about a week and it started again…so i was curious if it may be because of the big amount of videos in one folder, so i reduced them (deleting old ones i dont need anymore and switching half of the rest to another folder) didnt work so i put those i switched to another folder instead to another drive out of curiosity if that might work…and it did work…since then i always keep only a rough amount of videos on that drive and bought couple bigger hdd´s to store the rest/older ones, but im still not sure if its a problem of the ssd or windows or maybe the graphicscard having trouble showing that many videos? its weird
Meh. Go custom or go home. AIO is about high end air cooling (with more noise).
How's the AMD card been in Premiere, Greg? I'm considering moving to AMD, but the only thing holding me back is the CUDA acceleration.
Amazing build!!!! Any updates on how its doing?
Dark rock pro 4 is in desperate need of new fans, lots of dual 120mm coolers smoke it now. That being said mines worked like a dream since 2018.
I also have an AMD platform and I have the black screens. i think it is either a long HDMI cable or a windows issue.
You seem to have a special theme on this build: "Barely fits".
Yes, i am having similar issues with my monitor also that is connected via DisplayPort, HDMI port does not do this.
I have 2x monitor setup, the hdmi is bigger monitor for movies, and youtube clips.
DisplayPort is for games, it has better Hz, this one usually just does simple restart on boot, goes black for moment.
I went from a Ryzen 7 3700X and a GTX 980 Ti to a Ryzen 9 7900X and an EVGA 3080, the upgrade has been extreme! No issues with either. I too, have the Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 and it does a great job with the Ryzen 9 7900X.
the same black screen happens to me with my 3070.
I think its either windows 11 or intel. Running a 11700k and experience the same issue, its minor but super annoying. Running a 6650xt aswell, im thinking its probably just windows 11.
I LOVE the blackout look of the PC.
And the only two lights (Cooler and GPU) are perfect happy accidents.
Puts the little bit of life in the build.
Super clean
I tied to put the be quiet! Shadow Rock 3 in my Lian Li Dynamic-011 and it was even worse that yours. It wouldn't go at all. Even thought my case is twice as big.
I would have at least checked in the event viewer to see if any errors showed up.
I HOPE you will read this comment….I had the exact same issue it was the motherboard, I tried swapping parts different GPU, RAM, PSU, cables, monitors, clean win installs, and found out it was the motherboard.
its AMD, sooner or later, sooner rather, you will have issues. You'll see!
very clean build my guy
Love my be quiet! stuff, I have the pure rock 4 cooler and the Pure Base 500 FX and they are amazing.
Instability on an Intel system? In all my 25 years of building systems, my Intel once have been rock solid (except when OC'ing and the ambient temp dramatically changed). Hope by the end of this video the mystery solved.
great video again!
I wish that you giveaway your old rig ( :
i would take that all amd over a 13900k and 4080 any day though just me
i think you love black theme a lot
It was interesting until… you changed the Dark Rock Pro 4… and you stayed with the same PC Case… But still good video.
It looks really good. The mostly black with red accents look great.
Man, man graphics card sure came with a nice PC.
I like the no led look. I call it “Stealth” mode. Versus all the led lights possible and looking like the Vegas Strip.
I usually clean as I go
Hi Greg! I'm struggling to find a decent answere for wich cooler is best for i5 1300k (not OC). Some say you absolutely need AIO and some say fan based cooler is enough. What is your thoughts on this?
Great video as always and thank you for your beautiful content!
Thanks in advance!
Curious if you tried other power supplies, but bets on the unusual power spikes/draws of that 4090.
loving the framed Exodia cards on the wall!
