“Harvey’s Virtual Environment”
In this video Harvey shows you the newly released Synology DSM Template for Proxmox. This can be useful if you want to try any new DSM updates before deploying them on your Synology NAS. Or you can use this as a replacement NAS solution but if that’s the case please go and support the guys over…

Exactly what I have been looking for we deploy synology at a lot of client sites very happy about this video now I can have a cheaper solution in my home lab to do testing currently I have a small 2 bay unit been very happy with it. Keep up the good work I have Subscribed!
For this to show up under backups you need to go to path
/var/lib/pve/STORAGE/dump
Any way to install Qemu Guest Agent?
Dear sir
When i wans installing pat file, i have got failed to format drive error
tested, works great! thanks a bunch. subbed ofc.
Great video! It's been several years since I setup an Xpenology system. Good to see that the project is alive and well! Or maybe it's no longer called "Xpenology"??
I've been running DSM on an old Core2Quad machine for probably almost 10 years. I love Synology but can't afford the hardware. Hopefully someday soon.
Does this take care of updating the MAC and generating a new serial ID?
This is going to be perfect "to test" on a Lenovo p330 SFF 😉
I just gave up on TrueNas . reinstalled ProxMox on my server.
Thanks of the guide . hope to see more PMve vids !
TLDR; Use the template to work with disks already installed in a no longer supported Synolody device…
What if I have a Synology disk station that is no longer supported, but my Proxmox host can access, can I install this template and point it to the Synology, and use it that way.???
great vid. Got a new sub. Thanks!
Great but for example active backup will not work because no valid license will be generated. Black device series is needed (detail in the doku)
I was hoping this would make a comeback! How many disks are supported now bud?
Really cool. Thanks for the vid!
