Amazing video! Everything worked fine yesterday until there was an ark update, and my server is still stuck on version 31.37. I dont know how to update, I tried typing the app_update line but it didn't do anything, also ran the steamcmd.exe and it said it looked for update and installed but clearly not the right one. Anyone know how to fix? <3

Damn this tutorial was so easy. First time I actually managed to even get close to setting up a dedicated server. Got to the port forwarding part, it shows up in the join section. However, every time I click join and put the password in it just says "connection timed out". Any ideas?

A bunch of those settings in the server config of the wiki that had a question mark have been updated. I've been testing and updating them the last 2 days, updated at least 5 of those by now.

Why the F*%k are players still buying, playing, advertising the ASA? If I am a business that customers hate but still are gonna buy my product regardless I'M NOT GONNA GIVE A F$%K. Bitch, moan, cry, complain until Argy's start talking and Rex's start flying and as long as snail AND wildcard are still getting paid, not gonna care. PERIOD. Also, players are forgetting that ASA is a bridge/timegap for the Ark II. Go on. Keep playing. Keep advertising. Keep putting money in that pocket. Side note, way too much "love" is given to the devs of this business. Joke. F%$king Joke.

Cool, now I can play on a multiplayer server by myself.
An easy way to get a working game.ini that I did for my server is to make a single player game with the settings I wanted and just copied the ini that generated into my server. After that its a matter of tweaking and fine tuning the settings to suit your needs there.
Any ideas how to do one with Xbox
There's an ARK Ascended Server Manager by Ch4r0ne that will handle all the steamcmd stuff, updating and the like.

If you just click "X" to close the server you will loose all progress since the last world save. The proper way to close the server is typing "quit" on the window prompt. It will save the world and close the server.

Your game.ini file didn't auto populate because you need to exit the server first by typing "cheat doexit". Just closing the server window doesn't work

How powerful of a core does an ASA server need? I'd like to know which architectures/core types run it well
Everyone I see showing how to do this is always putting it on the same computer that they run the game on to play I want to know if it's possible to put it on a different computer that you don't play on without having to buy a whole another copy of the game
In the ASA Terminal, you type in exit and it will close the server and save the game at the same time. I closed the ASA terminal by clicking the x button on the top right and it never saved the game progression. Just an FYI.
