  1. No it is not that involved, it’s soooo easy. My time now is a little after 1:30 am and I’ve been at this since 8am yesterday. And my issue has been resolved in less than ten minutes. After contacting Apple, thinking about just saying ef it and looking to buy a new laptop…. That’s has definitely helped and been a life saver. I use windows for work but my Mac is for personal use. Classes start up soon and I’m in a graduate program and wanted to get a head start and just making sure my software is good. Thank you

  2. Thank you for the awesome video on a fix that needed to be found out. there is a similar issue with macOS lion internet recovery if you could find a fix that would help very much.

  3. Thanks again !
Never had such a mess trying to reinstall an older Mac OS version (starting from Sonoma)
Jobs is well & truly gone: it no longer "just works"

  4. I spent HOURS on this just now.
Got a 2017 MBP non-touchbar with a faulty SSD, got an adapter and a Micron NVMe Gen4 SSD – so obviously no MacOS, empty drive – and got this message. I read you gotta format your storage drive differently. No help with that. My mac for some reason doesn’t want to boot from any USB installer that other macs are fine with. So now I’m finally here and thank you – it worked.

  5. There is a much easier way. If you hit the regular keys to go into recovery WHILE holding the option key it bring up a new globe window which will allow you to go to some other mode which will then allow you to recover without doing this. I’ve done this for both of my 2012 Mac Book Pros. I hope this helps someone.

  6. What if I’m not seeing the url? I’m getting the error message but after opening window that url is not in the log. I tried partitioning my hardrive because I was very close to getting os back but after partitioning I think I jacked something up.

  7. You are the best. Thank you for this trick. I have actualy this problem and i try it this week how it works with my macbook. Greetings and a happy new year

  8. Good Evening. I have a Mac Pro 2009 with Mojave. I have the same problem. When I download files from the Internet, the process suddenly stops. Whether small or large files or browser updates, the same thing happens. What could be wrong? thanks

  9. Thanks a lot, It was very helpful, I have a Mac mini 2011, with that same high sierra… I followed strictly step by step, but when I confirmed with the nvram-p command it did not confirm, hence it did not work… gonna try the first version of this Mac, if it doesn’t work, I’ll do the Time Machine backup I did previously to this whole process, then do the boot usb pen, and see if it would work that way…

  10. You're SUCH a lifesaver and thanks to your researcher too. I tried everything and nothing worked. I truly appreciate this. I brought a 27" iMac 2011 for $50 and wanted to upgrade it and use it as a studio display and bummed to think it was a loss. Thanks to you and this NEWLY updated video my goal is not dead. Thanks once again bud

  11. Wow, that’s actually great. I remember people having issues with HS internet recovery.

Btw, similar to what you did in this video, is it possible to change the version of macOS recovery that you want internet recovery to download for u? For example, on my 2016 macbook pro, when holding shift+opt+cmd+r, i want it to give me High Sierra or Mojave instead of Sierra.
