Most YouTubers: You really should have your bases at resource nodes, else you're wasting your time.
Me: I prefer not so flat areas that look beautiful, like I'm in a forest or what not. ..If only I could tell my pals to STOP chopping the trees down and use the logging thing!!

More than half these spots are trash.
Built on the beach behind where you spawn.
Raid enemies glitch and get stuck on the ledge since they don't path to the point where they climb down, allowing you to just fly up and kill them with ease.
and it's a nice open beach area next to a dungeon

At 7:29 in the video you can see the two light rings on a building, I set up shop in the middle of that. With good placement the entire outer ring is the max dimension. It's all level and no raids have ever occurred. As well as a pretty good very of the snowy area and the city below
Check out the castle area behind where you start. Places just right there's like 5 levels you can mess with. I am planning a pretty unique setup utilizing that different levels. It is starting level with couple stone and trees to start the first base it's pretty cool idea imo
Instead of watching this just go to every flat spot on the map and pick a spot
Second location actually have 7 more ores just closer to the edge furthest from the fast travel.

most of these are actually horrible options for building a functional base, all you did was find spots that look cool and put no real effort into testing a single one of these locations, pals will get stuck at most of these and be K.O'd due to lack of food

Great video. You have just saved me a ton of time as I was going to do exactly that myself. Fly and see what's out there other than the TOP5 repeated in every single video these days.
These seem mostly geared toward mining base locations — while appreciated, I find that a main base performs best with in the flattest areas and the least amount of distractions for Pals (ex. no trees, stone, ore). I would consider some of these to be good as secondary bases, however.

A few of them are the absolutely worst options… Like the castle and desert plateau before it. Ledges means more places for the pals to spawn out of safety and possibly be trapped until you go and reset them whenever it happens. Unless it's just a base for show and no practical use of course.
You definently dont know good spots for a base. Pals glitch throug the foundations and you need flat areas. you recommend build on a plateu for whatever reason. maybe in a future update where you need to defend for pvp but atm your only good spots are the ore farming one.
