They sounded really good from your recording. Even with the obvious limitations of your phone mic, and YouTube. How did they sound to you?
The funny thing is… that I was listening to stevie ray vaughan little wing on YouTube music and it sounds better here thought those speakers, unbelievable.
Wow. The vocals are vivid.
Very impressive. The top end from the " mid pods " came through very clearly. Hard to believe you recorded it on your phone. It must be difficult for other demonstrators to impress people after they have heard these.
I'm more interested in what you think about Rotel's setup.
I undetstand that via phone its not the same as being in the room in the sweet spot. However i have watched many youtube videos of different hifi gear and the bass was much better
The bass sounds a little thin to me😢
Nice to see Monitor Audio go out on a limb with a unique design. I’ve always thought that their speakers sounded pretty good but they were never anything special to look at
Double Dutch . quite impressive '
Transients are soft and the soundstage seems closed in (the latter likely due to the unorthodox firing position of the woofers). I nice party trick but not a high end sound imo.
One thing that sucks about EVERY music demo the easiest music is played! I have a playlist that will really challenge a speaker and you’ll learn which ones really sound good. Anything will sound good with these choices!
bello.💔💔💔💔💔💔
The Hyphens don't disappoint. Really came across very well. Balanced top to bottom – very coherent. Really good tone – I can't tell the depth as well over my cheap IEMs, but what I can hear sounds really good. Nice showing from the Michi gear too.
Michi is the right Power..
The first speakers I bought brand new was the Monitor Silver 8i's. Great times 😊
Super Accurate and realistic sounding set up. Even over a phone for playback 😮.
Too loose and billowy
That's your best sound of the show by a long shot…
Neither Monitor Audio (or Rotel for that matter) have previously been associated with what most audiophiles class the 'high-end' but this is knocking it out the park🎶💪
Fantastic sound
that was nice, thanx
Thanks Jason, very cool!
Can't wait for your comments.
If all these rooms would demo using the same Hendrix songs that would be great. Excellent vid
The drums in Little Wing have great snap to them, glad they played songs we are familiar with cause that really help hear the differences. NICE
That seems like next level stuff. They were not playing when I was there. Thanks for the deep dive.
Interesting that it seems all the high end stuff that sounds above the rest have an innovation. Not just another box with drivers. They all sound the same, and a little bit boxy. These have slot loaded bass drivers aligned with the mid/highs. Gershwin had their separate bass cabinet time aligned with the A-frame mid/hi. Alysvox managed to cover the full range with ribbon drivers that are lightning fast. Acora uses granite to eliminate the box energy. AudioNec uses a Rubanoid to cover 400 to 10k Hz.
It is a great time to be a cost no object audiophile.
Next year, I plan to replace my Aragon 8008 power amp, maybe with Van Alstein monoblocks, like the DVA M750 or the DVA M225.
Do you or anyone here on your channel have an opinion on Van Alstein amps ?
Thanks, I watch many of your videos. My budget is too small for the gear you post, but it's fun to window shop on your channel.
Your recordings are wonderful. I recorded surf bands & use a Sound Device Mixpre 6 & 2 Telefunken M60 mics, so I appreciate decent audio.
I wish they would've played multiple genres of music that were very dissimilar to one another.
These guys know speaker development …
That sounds stellar, as far as one can tell through a recording!
Innovative technology and great sound – thanks for going back for another listen Jason!
