  1. Hello there… I got this model of Hi8 Sony DCR-TRV230 from a person in Japan, testing tapes I noticed that there was neither sound or video, just a blue screen.

I did a severe cleaning on the video heads.

When I tried to test the last tape the left roller guide came out.

And now? Big problem or easy to solve?

Looking closely at the piece, I noticed that is nothing rupture or broken. Any suggestions on how I can do it myself to put it in place?

  2. Yes a great video – I have a request.. in the same vein – the typical Central vac Hose – that has the multiple connections embedded in the hose casing .. and how it commonly get's stretched or broken and one has to 'shimmy' the hose down and then re-connect the terminals to the band at the connection point .. it's one of those 'planned obsolecense' things as just sitting there I Can think of so many things they could have done in engineering to NOT have this break down..the most critical point of the Central vac – I also hear that hose is very expensive to replace.

  3. nice video dave best way to save things going to landfill!repair is the best policy in my books were things can be reused!thank you for the great video today!

  4. Yep. I thought the same thing about the power too. Cool. This video will be awesome for those not mechanically inclined and just looking into how hard it might be to do. Nice.
