  1. I think there are people who identify with the things that they are using and when somebody comes and points out something that could be done better, the get the feeling that you're toxic for their environment when in actuality, you just want to help. Sometimes, unfortunately, trying to help doesn't work but it's alright! You tried! 🙂

  2. I love a good rant! I totally agree with your assessment of DAW's. I've never understood the whole "best" or "better than" mindset. I don't believe anything can be "the BEST" or better to everyone, only to the individual using it. There' no point in trying to preach the glories of a product as if it's the only thing worth using. I also find it funny that someone would object to you simply informing us with extremely useful options regarding Cakewalk and Reaper etc. I have a friend that has a lot of older CWP projects that now lives in a part of the country that has no internet access, he's got to drive for an hour + to town just to go online. For that reason alone Cakewalk is currently useless to him. He can't go easily online to simply activate Cakewalk or generate and create an offline activation request etc. If it is suddenly not activated he's dead in the water till he gets to someplace he can get back online. I let him know (thanks to your video) about the Reaper cwp option, which he went and got and now can continue with his projects and never have to worry about activation downtime. I personally keep my studio PC offline out of choice. I'm new to Reaper as a longtime Cakewalk user, and I can see how it's not for everyone, but I personally find it amazing, extremely affordable and packed with so many great features that other DAW's don't offer. Also as a longtime Cakewalk user I'm of course still curious and waiting for some sort of announcement, I'm still using both Cakewalk and no Reaper and if it makes sense once they announce Sonar's purchase plan, and it's something I can get on board with I'm still open to it. If not, then I'm happy that script for Reaper exists! In the meantime, I've jumped into Reaper and loving it. There's no reason not to learn several DAW's even if you aren't a fan. I've used Cakewalk, Logic, and involved in using ProTools, Cubase etc. just out of necessity on various projects. None of them I'd say were "the best" they all did their job. Thanks for the rant!

  3. I think the best is using only one DAW. I use Cakewalk for more than then years and other Daw's needs education, wich I find a waste of time. But that's my opinion. If I ever have to change I think of using Cubase.

  4. Great video and as Reaper fanboy and evangelist, I had to agree with the statement, no one daw is for everyone and it's a good thing to have a choice but not letting anyone share constructive criticism makes the community very hostile and unwelcoming and would hurt the software in the long term.

IMHO, Reaper is probably the most underrated daw in the market, sure there are other daws that are even lesser known than Reaper but they are not crazy powerful and flexible as Reaper. I think you should make a separate channel to make videos about Reaper and showcase the tools and workflows.

    Oh wait!! 😂😂

  5. Just watched this video again. Regarding the lack of Sonar release… I suspect they want Next and Sonar released together and I suspect that their changes to the Sonar (CW) gui are taking a lot longer than they'd hoped. I love CW, although I have my issues with it, but as a software designer and developer by trade it feels like the code is messy to me – you know like you fix something over here and it breaks something over there. I don't know this – it's just a feeling – but it would make sense as it's been around a long time and code has a tendency to get messy over time unless you really stay on top of it. If so then my hope is that this exercise will have helped tidy it up. Regardless of the reasons though they really do need to get things moving. I'm not overly bothered by the delay myself – CW is still free after all – but you are right that the uncertainty is annoying some people, and the rest of the daw world is moving on.

  6. I have the sonar platinum pay version it has more the 25 instruments and more the 50 FX 7 EQ and the 30th anniversary ca-x ampsaddtion and FX chain With 150 presets for drums, guitars, modern, proChannel retro and vocals . hopefully these and more plugins wilL be included in the new version. Otrerwise, I don't think I WIll pay for it

  7. Hey bro yeah sometimes they will definitely block videos.

I’m glad that we all can learn from one another and share with others.

Thank you for what you do! Keep going strong.

  8. You are 100% correct, No Daw is going to please everyone. Your videos are greatly appreciated , and I've learned much from you, and I've used many different Daws, starting with Pro Tools then Cakewalk and finally settled on Reaper as my Daw of choice after getting it customized to my workflow.
People, make music with whatever works for you,

  9. I hope you're not discouraged by negative comments. Your last (CW -> Reaper) video was great. So useful and informative. People seem to get overly defensive of their daws. I don't really understand it. We all want our daws to be better and our lives to be easier.
For me the jury is currently out on Reaper and Reacwp. I love that they exist and kudos to the developers but are they for me? Maybe. We'll see.
I'll keep watching your videos whichever way I end up going though. Peace.

  10. I love "DAW hopping"… Reaper is numero uno, but I also use (and have) Cakewalk (new Sonar), Cubase 13, Fl, Bitwig, Live, Reason and Waveform pro. Love them all for diferent reasons. What I like the most about Reaper is that you can set it up just the way you like it. It takes some effort, but once you have done that ….. nothing beats it. But like I said…. love using the other daws to from time to time. And you…..yes you😉..keep up the good work💪💪🥳

  11. thanks to you for all your helpful inforamation. As a 71 year old composer, I have found your tutorials and your info about making the switch from Cakewalk to reaper. the most usefull out there. After your last post abut the script for opening for CWP files I tried it and the first three compolex projects ported perfectly!

  12. some groups on facebook actually pretty dumb, I posted once a link to my youtube, that actually focus on reaper content in the reaper user group and it got deleted right away, so me left that user group…ain't easy to promote stuff if they don't let you… you doin a good job xelooh

  13. Facebook groups are terrible. I typically join 1 or 2 regarding a piece of software or topic I am interested in and, without fail, usually quit them a few days or weeks because the questions are lazy and mostly off-topic, the groups are usually full of ads or low-quality posts, and there are generally a whole segment of the group that are toxic AF. Just post here and we will follow you and don't bother with crappy Facebook groups

  14. Had Cakewalk since it started. It was gret, i spent so much money on all the upgrades for years, but got burned after paying foe their advertised lifetime payment, and then it went belly uo and moved to the free cakewalk by bandlab. Then I waited for the new Sonar, but have lost faith and fed up waiting. Have been using Studio One for 10 months but now just bought into Cubase. Special Crossgrade oofer from Cakewlak Sonar to Cubase 13Pro. I would like to open my cmp files in Reaper, so will be installing Reaper too for espceially for that. Brilliant news. Cakewalk is finished for me. They have kept us waiting for too long, and I have moved on. Great channel. Thanks

  15. Sir OHH! You’re real and helpful person – a blessing for us learners in whatever DAW. I appreciate your lessons and leadership. On FB, I skip the haters – they don’t have anything to add.

  16. My first DAW was REAPER and I still love it. I also have CUBASE, STUDIO ONE and CAKEWALK. They are all great for different reasons. It just depends on what you're trying to accomplish and which workflow suits your project best~✨
