Very cool video. I remember seeing DOT for sale at my local nursery when I was a kid. Due to my adult goal to fulfill my childhood dreams, I ordered one from tropical acres. Hopefully, it should be ready soon.. ?
How do I know if my area has bacterial spot issue? I am at 9b zone.
Funny enough I pruned Irwin mango in maybe December January and it induced the tree to produce multiple flower panicle blooms from single branches in feb/march. Talk about resilience. I did just purchase a Phoenix mango. It was pruned before I bought it and was sprouting new growth upon purchase. A week later they shoots are at least a foot tall. Concerned about how vigorous it will be 😂
How do you guys feel about mahachanok? I just bought one from the rare fruit council and I’m hoping I made a smart move😅🤞
👌
Lemon Zest is the best, that’s no mess!

Great video. Thanks. For the video.
My lemon zest flowered for the first time this year, but powdery mildew ruined the party 😕
Bought a Kent mango from the store and the seed is sprouting, pretty excited because I’m in Illinois. I know it’s the wrong climate but this baby tree will be inside in the winter months
do you know if there are varieties that are hardier and would survive without protection in the winter – zone 9A?
Thanks, I always appreciate you sharing your expertise.
Carrie produced all male flowers… and Central Florida got hit heavy with powdery mildew
Really awesome varieties! I have the lemon zest and sweet tart, among others. I'm happy to hear the sweet tart is impressive and productive. 😁
Inland south FL can get 10+ degrees colder at night than the coasts.. mostly a concern for young trees especially during the winter months. Can anyone recommend a variety that’s the most tolerant to colder temps? Anyone have any experience growing mangoes in ground in south central FL? Thank you for your response 🙂
Hi Paul, awesome information with Alex, I have some of these varieties but they are still small trees. Looking forward to this mango season!
🤓
Paul pronounces situation funny. Best horticulture YouTube show. He does a great job. These are all great variety explanations. Thanks for sharing Alex's knowledge with us!
Thank you for mentioning the fibrous-ness(sp?). Can you mention which varieties are less fibrous?
