  1. Bro, I don't think this movie can at all be made based on the book and was done well enough with a bit of touch ups here and there.

Idk I think it dropped a few little plots that really were not needed for the storyline and cut the needed fat while adding chaini as an important dramatic balance to the story. No one was telling Paul not to go south. Idk seems everyone who was upset with the movie either didn't pay attention and needed to be spoon fed or they were always going to have a issue with the movie.

  2. Yeah, I can’t lie, I think you need to rewatch the ending again. I don’t think you grasped why the houses reject Paul’s ascension in the films. It seems like you projected your interpretation onto the movie, and I’m not entirely sure why. You clearly understand the books, but I’m not sure why you weren’t able to see the translation in the film.

  3. your opinion makes since if your basing it off of the themes of the books but the movie had many differences in themes compared to the book also Chani barely had a character in the books the movie version has way more depth and fits into the themes of the story in which the movie is trying to tell

  4. I feel like I'm being gaslighted, the guy clearly correctly explains how prescience works and then says none of that is in the movies… What? I've only watched the movies and that's exactly how I understood it, have you people even watched them or just walked into them with 'I'm gonna hate this' book reader's mindset? Online political commentator personas on all sides and shitty media takes, absolutely inseparable duo.

  5. So what baby sister isn’t born by the end of the movie?☠️ she still had a presence and some really good scenes. This is the most retarded “I’m a bookworm!” ☝️🤓 bashing of the film I’ll probably ever see

  6. Yes. Rabban’s weapon is a whip. Yes it’s a poor choice. Symbolism? Slavery anyone?? You guys said it yourself you can’t Brute force obedience, can’t rule with an iron fist. Wtf is this Yap session you guys circle-jerked each other so hard☠️

  7. As if Chani’s main fear in Part 2 isn’t Paul gaining absolute power, using it for himself and leaving her people behind?? Why do you guys dumb it down SO MUCH. Saying she’s just written like a liberal angry feminist☠️☠️ do you guys seriously not have the ability to interpret cinematography without a bunch of lines baby fed to you?? This whole hopping the Shai-Hulud back home all angry can be so easily resolved in 3, budget/time got cut for pt 2 give him some slack☠️

  8. Diversity of thought among the Fremen is entirely believable. Skeptic Chani serves as an avatar for the audience, which allows them to see that Paul and Jessica are manipulating the Fremen to achieve their goals. She loves Paul and hence rejects the religious fanaticism that surrounds him. Paul left Chani in the dark when it comes to the decisions he ended up making, so her reactions are entirely justified.

The Fremen have ornithopters at their disposal, so it's not unrealistic that some of them also know how to operate a spacecraft.

Paul and his army were able to reach the Emperor's throne room because they attacked them from all sides. The Fremen fought them off throughout the whole night, and ultimately reached the Arrakeen palace where Gurney killed Rabban. In the novel Rabban's death is not clearly stated and there are no detailed descriptions of the battles. Perhaps that's why Villeneuve left some things up to the imagination of the viewer.

Frank Herbert was a homophobe both in life and art, he rejected his gay son, Bruce, who died of AIDS in 1993.

  9. So did this segment count as theory or drama? I liked this. How do I vote for more like this?
The Keffals or WhatIfAltHist stuff is tedious and mind numbing. The serious theory stuff is interesting but often over my head. This stuff is just plain cool.
