As lemon peel is white on the inside, makes sense for me.
The problen then would be the white residue on the lime, but what is sturdier than chocolate? Caramel.
My idea was: chocolate lime mold, fill with cake, caramel bath, paint, caramel bath, give texture when the caramel still hot/warm, modeling chocolate with powdered sugar, paint.
When you peel the lemon, you should be able to "clean" the lime under it with a piece of cloth.

It’s amazing but disappointing😢 but instead of doing a lime and a lemon why don’t u do like how u did for example the one time u did made a chocolate but when u cut it it was a vanilla cake(I think) so now why don’t you try with a chocolate outside and inside of it is a vanilla cake and inside of it is a strawberry cake❤ not forcing u to do but it would mean the world to me! Seems like a missed opportunity to "put the lime in the coconut" (although she's already done a coconut cake, so maybe she wouldn't want to again)

Well first, even if this succeeded, it's a cake inside chocolate inside chocolate – not cake in a cake in a cake, so yeah ….nesting dolls would be more like cake in cake in cake, etc ..
