“Numptaloid”

Early 2015, during a time when no-one was looking, one Australian creator did something so outstanding that it ruined my life and I am also miserable.

This is the most terrified I’ve ever been of uploading a video, this video is either the best or worst thing I’ve ever made. All I know is that…

  1. my god i fucking love this video

admittedly, i haven't watched anything from you since the On Sight video, but i saw your posts about your "new big project" and i was hyped. and HOLY SHIT, IT LIVES THAT HYPE.
i did watch the not-so-secret-anymore video too, and i wish you nothing but the best. sadly i can't give any sort of advice, as i don't know shit about anything in life, but i do hope you figure things out
but i need to ask you; do not stop creating art like this. this is, as field experts call it, "raw as fuck", and it genuinely struck me to the point where i felt the need to actually write something more well-thought and not just comment some silly shit as i usually do
thank you for putting effort into stuff and sharing it with us, i really appreciate it

also longer comments like this usually end with something funny so uhh ill think of something later idk

  2. the video presents a lot of interesting parallels between geometry dash (blue marine / cp grinding) vs your own life (hamilton gardens / minesweeper)…

both blue marine and the gardens represent a more genuine form of joy that is gained from an imperfect work (blue marine has tons of flaws as a level, chinese scholars garden isnt even his favorite section), and he desires his suicide to leave him with both of them in death (mentioned jumping into the river in the gardens and letting his body be carried into the blue marine)

and then both minesweeper and creating levels represent something that used to be the same imperfect fun (mentions how it wouldnt be minesweeper without the flaws, talked about how everyone was making shitty levels in early 1.9 and thats okay) but twisted in a toxic and addictive way (minesweeper gives way to addiction and creating levels gives way to cp grinding)

theres more to unpack but this is a fantastic work of art nump, there were multiple moments that actually made me really feel something inside. fuckin beautiful man.

best of luck and keep fighting ❤

  3. this video doesn't hand hold you, it just shoots the content directly to your cranium, it just injects pure content right in your veins and you overdose in it

    amazing
    i rate it a blue mario/10

  4. Excellent video but it will never be popular it's just to complex and niche for it to ever gain mainstream success. Of course I doubt that's why you made this video, you probably made this as a pure form of artistic expression, with the audience reaction as secondary.

  5. putting alien observer as the bg music of this video at one point truly made me appreciate what you do even more. its just a song in the background, yes. but i can genuinely see that with damn near everything you put into these videos, the symbolic nature of the details under your soliloquys make me, well, happy. you care about what you do in a pure way that is rare (raw as fuck, as you'd say). great video, always very excited to see you upload 🙂

  6. i dont know how to explain it, but this video was the only thing on this platform that i can truly say was an experience. you start the video and think "oh, well this level must be amazing, its a 32 minute long review of it!" then the level is shown, and you wonder what makes this level so great. at a certain point in the video, you forget what you were doing or what you needed to do and you think "how did we get here? i thought this was about geometry dash?" then, the ending comes, and you realize this isn't about geometry dash, it never was. it was never just a geometry dash level, it always means something more, no matter how small it might be. i have no clue what drugs you put in this video and i realize that its a venting video but this is incredible and if i wasn't immensely poor this would be the part where i donate money but all i can say is this video is incredible and thank you for letting us experience this

  7. You're one of the most lucid people in the community right now. Someone who is able to analyze the level and touch on every thought a new player has while playing the level. Someone who can perfectly describe complex phenomena with words like "everything made outside of a few stone-cold classics might as well not have existed" that no one else touches on. Someone who's not afraid to put popular creators on blast and call them liars for saying they "do it for fun." Someone who can make art in a time of emotional hardship, and that art is good.

If this video spoke to anyone, I was one of them.
