  1. My first car was a used 74 Pinto Runabout Hatchback. I kept 2 more Pintos in the driveway for parts. One was a wagon but not a woody. They had one quirk I remember- If you park facing uphill on a steep enough angle you won't be able to start the car.

  2. I had a '73 Pinto wagon that same color but not a Squire and it was a 4 speed manual. I paid $150 for it in 1979. My first brand new car was a '76 Pinto Pony MPG 4 speed that really did get the advertised mileage estimates of 24 City and 36 HWY. There were two more, a red '72 2 door and a red '73 wagon, both auto trans.

  3. It's easy to see how a fella could get out of joint and pissy eyed trying to navigate a troublesome 50 year old relic down our nations by-ways, but there is a solution. Replacing your cars transmission vacuum modulator will solve your problems and correct your car's bad behavior. I would also change the spark plugs, as they have become fouled due to the bad modulator. So fix that ole firebomb and don't let that kid see her father crying. Happy motoring.
