Honestly, the older I get the more I love/relate to the villains. 😂
As a doe-eyed stupid kid you of course root for the 'good guys', but experience and PEOPLE almost turn you into a villain yourself. 😏
Sometimes I imagine a career as an actress, on a theater stage or on tv, doesn't matter – as long as I can let out my inner evil witch (replace the 'w' with 'b', hehe).
And I loooove the minions! They're hilarious and cute!

This is one of those movie franchises where I honestly have almost no opinion. It’s there. It does its job.
I appreciate the adoption angle and the bad guy with a heart of gold trope not being used for romance. It’s different.
I equate the minions to the mice in Cinderella. They aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but they do serve a purpose in the narrative.
And that’s my entire opinion of this entire franchise.

I never thought of the Minions being annoying. They were always just cute and funny to me ^^
This is one of those films that I was surprised that had such a sweet, cute story.
I have never hated the Minions and like them in the 'Despicable Me' films, but I don't have any real desire to watch their film because I feel there is not enough there to make a film that would hold my interest. I think the "hate" is from them marketing the Minions so much for so long and certain people that enjoy hating on something popular.

The Minions are fine in the first movie, the reason most people dislike the minions was from the amount of them being oversold, being on everything, every piece of marketing had them be the forefront, even the sequels dedicating enormous amounts of screentime to them and taking away from the main plot while they are somewhere else doing stuff.

I honestly love the first movie, even the second one. These could’ve been some real heartfelt movies but the multiple sequels/spin off’s killed everything 😬

Most of the hate for the minions come from adults with kids or works with kids. Cause you know their kids wore them out with the Minionese gibberish. 😂😂😂😂😂 and Minionese is like a mixer of English, spanish, and random sounds

Back when the movies came out I was quite annoyed by the minions. Wasn't their fault, but the huge hype around the franchise and their characters was really off-putting. Not a big fan of things that get hyped up so much, creates a weird atmosphere of you have to have seen it to belong. Usually intentionally wait weeks, months or years to watch movies and shows in my own time. Anyway, so the hype annoyed me and that's why I hated the minions. During our lockdowns I gave in and pretty much binged ALL the movie in one day or so, absolutely live them, and am a big fan of the minions now xD
From what I could tell the minions just speak gibberish but I have heard English and Spanish mixed in before

I got to re-watch the 1st film on the big screen last year, and…yeah, it hasn’t aged that well. The franchise has thankfully grown and improved from it.

Honestly, this movie was not exactly my cup lf tea. This one I enjoyed-ish because the Minions were not as annoying as they would become. Guess that answers your Minion question. But I thibk if they were annoying me in the mocies alone I'd handle it. But they were EVERYWHERE. I used to work at a toy store and so many minion toys being activated by kids all day long might…. Have influenced my view on them a little bit ehehe.
But the oart you commented about the Minions having recreational time and being a nice work environment sounded so sweet. 🥺
I love this movie. I also love the minions. I think the problem with the minions movie is there isn't enough for them to do or this huge story arc. Personally, that doesn't bother me cause they're just so darn cute that I can't stop watching them. The animation is great. Or, it's because this movie is so good that anything less than genius seems a bit of a let down? Not sure but I enjoyed it.
