That little codec call Snake has with Otcacon about using CQC always gets me. He learned it from the man himself, but chose not to use it because of Big boss' betrayal, even though using CQC was like second nature to him.

All the people claiming that Big Boss would dominate Solid Snake or that Solid Snake would dominate Big Boss, need to replay the games and re-watch this video. Neither one would stomp/clap/dominate the other. It would be a very close battle regardless of who wins.
I can't tell you how many times I've played through Metal Gear Solid 3, but every time I get to the end with Eva's speech about the boss I can't help but tear up. It's been well over 100 times and it still hits hard every time.
Naked Snake started out well trained but very naiive, whereas Solid has no such issue. However he is very much under informed and Im sure it would bite him in the arse. In a battle of pure technique and strength, I think Solid would win.

I think big difference is that BB, for good or bad, had the balls to drop his country and everything else he ever gave for granted and decided the path for follow for his own life even if this meant to literally go in war against the world, as long he could be "free" to follow his nature of soldier. Solid snake has always been a puppet of patriots and he was even when he joined philantrophy to fight against proliferation of metal gears and nukes.
After big boss ocelot is the best at CQC
no question big boss wins. in mgs4 he beat snake anyway in the ending and gave him a hug. not only that but in mgs3 the begining where you see ocelot he gets cornerd by like 7 people and nocks all of them out including ocelot. snake wouldent even stand a chance against big boss

Big Boss literally disarmed Solid Snake and gave him a fatherly hug. He could have easily killed him at the end of MGS4. Big Boss is a chad ❤

Big Boss- eliminated the Cobras and Volgin and the Boss and destroyed the Shagohod.

Big difference is experience. Big Boss wasn't just a skilled soldier, but a expert military commander. The only advantage Solid would have over Big Boss would be fighting in a urban environment & maybe technology. Big Boss fought more varied and skilled enemies. Especially around the MSF/Diamond Dog days. No contest honestly
Also the funny thing is that Big Boss is also a better surgeon than you would expect from a soldier
Even if Big Boss was stronger in every way, Solid Snake is known for turning the odds in his favor.
I really like that you brought up the concept of Solid Snake from the Twin Snakes. While I never played the game sadly due to not owning a GameCube. I have played MGS1 and still think it’s the best choice if you want to enjoy the story and feel to the franchise.
While The Twin Snakes definitely made Snake almost like a Matrix Character. I like the idea that someone once said.
“ The Twin Snakes is basically the story told through Otacons eyes. While MGS1 is how it actually happened.”
As for the scene of Solid Snake vs Gray Fox in the Twin Snakes. I liked it did show the skill sets of hand to hand combat that Solid Snake does have in the scene. Primarily using taekwondo, but still being able to use his fist effectively. In the end throwing Gray Fox over his shoulder like it was nothing.
Another thing I really liked is that you brought up how many missions both characters have done and specifically explained what they were challenged with. While both have different scenarios, it still adds to the craziness they both had to deal with.
All in all I enjoyed the video and really hope it agains more views and likes that it deserves.

If they both faced each other in their prime, I feel like it would be a stalemate, maybe Big Boss would have a slight edge but it could go either way
Solid snake would clap big boss prime for prime but did you see the shit he went through at the end of 4? Ocelot beat him half to death he got fried in a radiation wave oven tunnel he was fighting ludicrous eldridge style AI robot creatures left and right it was a fucking joke. After all that bollocks big boss showing up at that time whilst he's in recovery and big boss is sitting aside all new and fresh.. And I feel snake almost could feel the non life threatening usage of cqc at the time and it was throwing him off perhaps also as big boss wasnt trying to actively hurt him that might of thrown his game right off giving boss a split second advantage but.. Had he not hugged solid snake instead of hugged him, snake probably would of judo throwed his ass or tried something and it would of gone on till one went for a lethal move lol after all… there is only room for one snake. And one big boss.

if fox die would have worked slower then solid snake would have died in shadow mosses cause of liquid snakes larger than life durability
Great video- but this is one of the major reasons we need Metal Gear Solid 6- a remake of the MSX games to finish this question once and for all.
I usually don't comment on MGS videos as I have lived and breathed on this franchise since MGS1 on PS1 1998
I have to say thank you for including PORTABLE OPS as it is considered CANNON in my eyes as well as in the eyes of the people who actually played PORTABLE OPS and understood its importance to the series.
Not a day goes by that this amazing franchise has made a huge influence in my life.
KONAMI, Tomokazu Fukushima, Hideo Kojima, Yuji Shinkawa, Noriaki Okamura and many more from the original team who made this legendary franchise into existence as it is, they have my thanks.
