  1. I was one of the first people to buy the initial $1000 supporter pack for PoE1 and played it for ages without feeling the need to ever dig deeply into the endgame, because I just enjoy making original builds and exploring ideas. I agree with every design direction Jonathon is doing, and I am VERY glad he is willing to push against the Reddit hivemind, even when they fuss and whine and think they own the world.

  2. I ate at least 10 or more adds and I just passed de 1h mark. I end up closing this video just due to that, even if its a really interesting conversation. REDUCE THE FUCKING ADDS

  3. OOF the removal of scour will change crafting forever. Most if not all top tier crafts are focused around a gg base where people spending mirrors in worth of currency just to obtain.

  4. MF isn't the problem that causes disparity. The disparity is someone sleeping 5 to 6 hours a day and playing 17-19 hours for the rest of the day vs the person sleeping 5 to 6 hours a day to play only 4 hours because they have a job and family. The argument is mute it all boils down to time played and the former gets almost 5 days per the latter's 1.

  5. I appreciate you bringing up some of the issues with casual party play. That is one of the things I miss about diablo 2, it felt easier to party casually.

  6. can someone ask GGG how the parent league system works for poe2? i would really like to see hc leagues transfering to their softcore equivalent instead of standard graveyard. makes it easier to get friends to at least try hc once per league.

  7. Am I the only person not looking forward to weapon swaps? Hope i'm wrong but any game that has weapon swap I tend to feel uninspired and can't really build into the characters. Awesome work, love these interviews.

  8. I'm actually losing interest and hope for POE2. They are taking it in a slower paced dark souls like direction with more intentional movement, dodges, skills. I really don't think that's what people want out of an ARPG POE sequel. Its like a core change to what POE was – Going fast, clearing screens, turning your brain off and just cruising watching things explode. I don't want to be actively engaged at all times when playing an ARPG. That "turn your brain off and slay" aspect is very appealing for a lot of players. Not every game has to be engaging 24/7. I have nothing against those types of games, if I'm in the mood I love them, but I can't grind them for hours like an ARPG. Its just too much mental work to stay focused up at all times for that long. This is like completely changing the genre and I think when the novelty wears off after a few months alot of players are going to realize this too.

It always felt like they never liked how POE went with the zoom zoom playstyle and they kept trying to inject more of this dark souls BS into each league. Make another separate title if that's what you want!

  9. Really hope there is no zoom in POE2. We already have POE1 for that and I'm tired of it. I want a game were every pack needs to be approached with a plan and clever use of skills that depends on the mix of enemies and the environment.

One of my biggest fears for POE2 is that content creators will push the developers to ruin the game. The combos they've displayed look supper fun but simply will not work with POE1 game speed. In my opinion it is important that white monsters have life spans in the end game. They need to exist for several hits and 3-10 seconds for the game to feel fun!

Really hope automation is low as well.

  10. WASD? Why not racing wheel controller? Do people should implant into own bodies a additional arm with fingers or buy special foot keyboard?
PoE2 @ Exilecon: „We are going to simplify the gameplay in comparision to PoE1”
PoE2 @ Now: „Let's utilize more keys, never-mind how people will use them simultaneously (in accordance with the terms of use – without auto-clicking macros) 3 skills, 5 flasks, highly likely some league keys and a portal”
I remever one hack and slash game with WASD – look where is Pagan „Offline” now… 🙃

  11. Nice interview!

    interviwers ranking (personal opinion):

Pal: challenging, engaging, pushing his ideas. Example: no life on the tree but ES nodes yes? Noice!
Subtractem and CL9: a little in awe (mostly CL9), just accepting what Jonathan is telling them without raising many concerns. Example: crafting now requires having a mega-stack of white items. It sounds like crafting jewels for "the adorned". A very tedious and space-consuming process. CL9 immediately recognized it but he did not push back very much (at least I felt this).

I understand that the game is not out yet so you may want to not come out harsh on this and wait to express strong opinions but as a feeling Pal came out on top as interviewer.

PS: I greatly appreciate the content of all these interviewers and this is not a critique on them or their work as streamers. This is just a personal critique on their interviewing skills (hopefully constructive) as they may continue doing interviews in the future (as interviewers obv).

  12. @subtractem i failed to find this video after 4 youtube searches, i don't know if it would help, but please fill the video information with keywords such as "GGG, interview path of exile 2" etc.

  13. I really don't understand Pal's MF concerns. The current build diversity is off the charts. and there's no single amulet dominating the game as a whole. what's the issue exactly? what buildsare people '"forced to use"?

  14. Ffs people love poe for the zoom zoom, explode and automation you can get. Look how rf, wardloop, coc and stuff are popular (until super nerfed). Look how automated flasks are appreciated. Don't kill that aspect in PoE 2.

  15. No rest for the wicked is amazing. I've only played two leagues of poe but the combat is trash compared to wicked. I hope they ignore all the poe addicts who only play poe and move the genre forward. Combat is always the most braindead gameplay in arpgs.

Also, the devs stated most of the negative reviews came from China due to localization. The reviews are most positive now.

  16. Maybe, to balance things out, put some magic find on the base items? Let white items have 0 , blue 5% , rare items between 7 and 15%? Or let it scale with quality for some bonus.

  17. all this trade-league focused "div per hour" talk is incredibly cringe. Trade league andys really try their hardest to ruin the game for themselves.

  18. Build diversity and smooth gameplay is literally all I care about. I get so nervous with ARPGs when they do the "you play this class you get these abilities" I hate that!

  19. Great interview. Really covered a lot I hadn't heard before.

I do wish someone would ask Jonathan if they are willing to pull a lot of MORE scaling out of PoE2 to keep it under control. He briefly touched on it but no one is making the connection that PoE1 is the way it is because of multipliers.

  20. Didn't listen to all of it, but is there any talk about making mid-game gearing less painful?
IE. Getting 100% ailment res so I don't freeze in place every other pack, not needing to maintain max resists to not be one-shot, needing max block, max spell suppression, armor+evasion auras, just to survive, etc.

  21. The issue with flask charges is simply one of volume. I play a game like elden ring with limited flask charges for a total playtime of how much I may play a single league of Path.

  22. 1:15:32 if you one shot the whole screen, movement speed becomes a dmg scaler, while in the beginning it might be considered a defensive stat since it helps you to avoid attacks.

trading affix slots for MF doesn't feel good and, being able to get MF from doing some kind of challenge might be a good alternative, just an idea. maybe also temporary MF buffs from flasks or other sources
