“TheYamiks”

Starfield, the 2023 release of Bethesdas’ largest open world RPG has no R, no P, no G not even Open world.
Once more Bethesda slops out a lazy, backwards looking, stagnating and even regressing game, while pretending it’s “NEXT GEN”.
Thru examining the game in great detail…conclusion from this…

  1. People keep harping on how Starfield is "bad because its design is outdated". But that's pure fucking revisionism and reductionism at work. No it's not. It's bad because it's BAD. It's worse than Morrowind in key RPG, hell, even UI aspects. Here, i'll say it – Morrowind had a fucking city map. It had highlights for enchanted items. It had a grid inventory, instead of this linear list garbage i need to scroll through for a day to get to the item i want. Character leveling worked and was rewarding (even if tedious sometimes). Are they both outdated? Yes, they are. But one is playable, even today (and no, it's not just nostalgia, i installed OpenMW not long after playing Starfield, and actually had fun with it), and one is a boring, messy, underwhelming shitfest.

And that's before i even get to writing.

  2. And of course, by metaphorically giving HeelsvsBabyFace a slapping for his outburst, you're not pandering at all, are you?
No, no, course you wouldn't do that just in case someone was watching . . . Honest, guv 🤨

    Coward!

  3. In baby face's defense, I think Yamiks has missed his point quite a bit. The guy is simply tired of having woke/forced "inclusivity"/agenda into everything these days, especially when it negatively affects the quality of writing. It's a massively annoying Americanism that I could do without. Maybe being in a more sensible country Yamiks isn't exposed to it as much.

  4. With zero research and only anecdotal evidence, I can confidently claim the following:
The whole argument about not being able to off the non-adults with space pew pews is probably from Fallout 3. It included children not just as set dressing but as interactable characters with some significance either in the story or in certain areas/questlines. By not being able to enact the hurties upon them either to intimidate or to remove an obstacle like you might for any adult character in another location, it took away player agency and forced them to take certain routes with that content.
Kind of like being locked into certain companions in Starfield etc.

So anyone who takes issue with the argument, try to remember that (aside from a few who I'm sure exist) no one is arguing for it because they want to do it or simulate it, but because not being able to represents a lack of player agency in games like these, and now the topic has become shorthand for a discontent that I don't think many people have sat and thought about.

  5. Lots of unscientific things in this game like the robot talking like a human that was pointed out. The 200 year old colony ship's computers using the same modern operating system as all the other computers on the different worlds. All the colonists on that same ship have different accents even though they spent all their lives together. You can get afflictions from gas on other planets even though you're wearing a space suit. I mean you don't even need to hire a science advisor to know these things.

  6. If it was decided that preferred pronouns had to be included in this game, then it stands to reason that the team behind it follows the ideology that promotes the alleged existence of more than two sexes, in other words: they are woke. The promoters of woke ideology are hostile towards the idea of meritocracy, are intolerant towards dissenters, have a zealous need to use any platform available at their disposal for the promotion of the ideology above everything else, like any religion or cult, oh, and they loathe humanity and would rather the humans go extinct as they consider us (and themselves) as a force of destruction hurts the planet and destroys Nature, whatever that means. It is not difficult to imagine that the quality of a product developed in such environment would not be good. Heels vs Babyface is right on the money.

  7. The most saddeniny part about this video is that i can´t really say anything against your points.
Yes there´s the good old "mods will fix it", but that STILL means that Bethesda delivered little more than the framework, which ultimately makes the game a failure.
Because mods are third party made.

  8. Fallout NV on Hard Drive has lots and lots of stutters, play it on ssd and it smoother, and has less problems. So the problem is with there engine and how it access the hd/ssd

  9. Thanks for the video.
When Todd is talking about the next gen pc game, and the man next to him is Laughing his ass off.
This scene tells you all you need to know about starfield.

  10. Awarding Starfield for the most innovative game was not made by fanboys, but as a troll move by the whole community, since its quite the opposite of an innovative game..

  11. I don't have Starfield but it's interiors remind me of the graphical fidelity of Wolfenstein: The New Order – a ten year old game (published by Bethesda), and which runs fine on a GTX1080.

  12. It's disgusting to see how uncreative Emil was about the idea of "witches" in Salem. He could have used psykers, part of existing Fallout lore. Mama Murphy is a psyker, ffs. Have them be insane because they have no psychic nullifiers, and you start getting cursed visions if you fall asleep anywhere near Salem until/unless you go there and "fix the problem" (regardless of how). They could even have made Mama Murphy important to that kind of a quest.

This didn't NEED the Skyrim magic system to work, but Emil wanted to replicate the stories of Salem witchcraft specifically using those mechanics, and was unable to creatively adapt to the lack thereof. He does not create from his inspirational sources – he merely copies them, and badly.

  13. I generally enjoy your content, but man, if you were gay or Non-binary you probably wouldn't think the inclusion of those things in a game where you can and are supposed to make a character to represent yourself was "Unnecessary" or "Pandering", even though it is true that the way BGS included such things is bare minimum since it has no bearing on anything else and never becomes relevant aside from the character creation menu..
