Someone is saying that car should provide coushioning effect …actually he is right but this is more complex ..because the safety in crash test is not just determined by deformation of bonnet.
It involves overall structure ,crumple zone,safety fetures like air bag ,seat belt,and more.
In case of TATA nexon it have higher safety rating from Global NCAP(5 star) ..⭐and the lack of visible damage to bonnet doesn't necessarily means it's less safe .In fact , it incate that the car's structure is effectively absorbing and distributing the impact forces .

While the i20 have lesser NCAP rating of 3 stars because its design and overall safety is not better than Nexon .⚠️
While in smaller accidets plastic bonnet will work but in more seviere accident bonut should be strong enough to not defrom that much that all the forces will get transfferd to interior section .🛡️

Ans that why airbags ,seatbelt are provided to slow down person's own speed by inertia and provide coushning effect.
