in my humble opinion the Marlin 60 is the best 22 ever made ,and you never even mentioned it!
my top 4, mod 52 , mod75 and 10/22, mod39, and if I need to explain any of these you are a pilgrim as John Wayne would say.
That CZ 455 is a tack driver. Mine is a drop comb which brings those iron sights right up into proper position. Sweet.
fantastic video I agree with every word you said, but, had you done a top 6 I'm hopeing you would have included the Marlin Model 39A as one of the best 22lr rifles ever made, I have a 1969 model and it still shoots one hole groups a 50 yds
Marlin 60
Springfield mo.87
Marlin 39
Henry Ar7
Remington Relevon
Wish you guys would cover the Keltec su22e. Not much out there on that gun and definitely not the way you guys dive in.
honorable mention to…..winchester 72, Marlin 60, Browning SA22, Remington 34
The browning sa-22 in my opinion is nicer then the 10/22 ruger but just an opinion
Cooey Model 60, still have it nearly 60 years later!!
Henry rimfire rifles have been nothing but problems for me unfortunately .
Gsg
Sako finnbear
The top 3 22lr rifles for me are, The Marlin model 60, the Ruger 10/22, and the Henry Lever gun. The most fun of the 3 is the Henry, It's a lever gun you can't get much more fun than that. The most accurate and oldest in the Marlin 60. The most modular and you can customize forever is the Ruger 1022.
Should have done 22 caliber. Like the BLR 22 liver action can shoot shorts longs and long rifle so if you can't find long rifle you could still go out hunting because shorts are very accessible
You never hear people talk about the nylon 66.
I thought LR stood for, 'light round'. 🫤
For me the 22 of choice growing up was a Remington Nylon 66 Apache Black and chrome! I still have this gun decades after. Sweet shooting, super accurate with the iron sights, and practically maintenance free.
I am happy to have understood the subtle nod to the Garand Thumb video at 6:40
the only gun that should be on here is the 10/22
I would honestly have to disagree with you on your selection but thank you for your picks …very interesting .And thanks for sharing your video as well !!
The CZ 22lr rifles are very accurate. I happen the think the CZ 452 ultra Lux e/w 28 inch barrel is on the top of the list. I realized it has been discontinued but CZ introduces new models often.
Marlin 60. I have had it 46 years and it still shoots very well. Have a Ruger 10/22 Take down with a Magpul back packer stock, Vortex scope, extended mag release. Great gun!
Remington 552
My first gun was a Springfield 187h simi auto 22 rifle from the early 60s my dad gave it to me when I was 7 it was so long I had to shoot with the middle of the stock under my arm pit then I grew into to it it says it can shoot shorts or lr bullets but it jams with 22 lr and shoots 22 shorts fine
Winchester 9422? Marlin 39A? Winchester Model 61? I'd take any of those three over most of these in the video.
No Browning mentioned??
Depends on what you want…..Anschutz for accuracy cant be left off.
I grew up with the Remington 22lr. The one you loaded under the barrel. I think it held 15 rounds. Can’t remember exactly.
Browning T bolt 22lr., and A22 Savage, both tack drivers.
Top five I own:
Anschutz 1710 D KL
Cooper 57
Winchester 9422M XTR
Marlin 39A
Clark custom ruger 10-22
Marlin 60 and or 795
Mossberg 51M
The safety on the CZ 455 Is activated by pushing forward and the rifle made ready to fire by pulling the safety back. This should be a heads up for everyone who owns or fires this otherwise excellent and very accurate rifle. It is my understanding that this has been corrected in the 457 with push to fire.
I've been thinking about getting me a ruger 10/22. Can't seem to pull the trigger and purchase one. But I just might after seeing that it's your number 1 pick on your list.
