And I still think the rail gun would do much better if the field effect inside the barrel could create zero gravity to float the projectile and then use location chips to keep the projectile on target. ??
Can a shock wave be introduced into the laser. What kind? One could include multi phase anti torpedo and recovery. Or a hit cold phase to create extreme turbulence or high intensity sound to create vibration or even plasma or electricity to short out electronics. I don't know much about em. We can do it better ?

Laser weapon is the future, especially when backed with nuclear-powered ships. The largest powered versions mounted on each of the US carriers would create a formidable weapons system that should handle any type of defence needed. Eventually the technology would advance to airborne platforms for rapid movement to any area of action. The primary challenge is to keep them out of the hands of our enemies.
