The fatal flaw you're talking about was purposefully designed, the charge port is at the bottom so that they make sure you DO NOT use it while charging as it damages it's battery and is extremely dangerous.
"Instead of buying a good mouse for 40$ lets just buy a case instead that barely does anything to make the mouse better" why would anyone do this… Oh wait

Back when Apple made colorful iMacs, they shipped with a round mouse. A separate company created a plastic holder, very similar to this, and called it the "Cat".

I love the magic mouse! I don't have super big hands, but they're not small and I still think it fits perfectly in my hand. I don't rest my hand on the mouse though and I use the keyboard for most things (power user/uber nerd over here).
