It's based on someone elses design if i recall.
I really wanted the 2015 set, but since most second hand listings are too expensive and Bricklink seemingly never has any UK sellers with it in stock, I guess the bootleg is my best bet. I did hear a rumour that this year’s May the 4th promo will by a battle droid troop carrier, but that could be wrong.
It doesn’t matter if it’s fake it matters if you can make an army

My little brother got this set and I must say it’s not bad. Carrier works well, droidekas built well, droids are alright. Some of the heads have problems connecting but they still work. 10/10 if you’re looking to build an army

I think if you could make some angled pieces that would hide the droids it should look pretty much great, like an MTT.

For the comments about him building the droids wrong, that's how the instructions say to build them to put them in the ship, I think it's so when they are in the ship you see the face and arms clearly, I built them correctly and put them in there with blasters no problem
I bought a few of these you can build the droids correctly with a pistol in hand and put them in the carrier if you fold them right
The droids being backwards could easily be fixed by building them the correct way 😀 and the troop deployment mechanism should be easy to fix by replacing the "one long technic pins with stud on the end" with "three long technic pins with low friction" and plugging the rods with the droid attachment into the open ends. the orientation should change according to gravity then.
Could turn the heads arms and legs around wouldn't it work better they'd have correct torsos?

The other reason the torso is put on the way it is normally. Not the way You have them on. Is so the head folds into its chest. As seen in the mpvie. Go fucking look at the 2007 mtt. And Any. Droid. Carrier. Youl see why the droids fold up properly. And its LITERALLY MOLDED SO THAT THE SIDE OPPOSITE THE STUD LOOKS LIKE THERE CHEST. so for future. Never ever critique that becuase YOU PUT IT ON BACKWARDS. not them
Your first grip. Isent there fault its Yours. You have them on backwords. The stud goes on the back. It always has. Every lego set has them positioned the game does. The stud on the back is for a backpack oe thi exact design. Your one of the few people who put droids torsos on Backwards and it is WRONG
