“People Make Games”
We traveled out to the Mojave Desert to roleplay the end of the world with four thousand other people at Wasteland Weekend. At first glance, this looks like a Mad Max fan festival (and it sort of is), but it’s also so much more than that.

This shit is cool as fuck
Fantastic video, love how strong the community is there.
I do feel like if Carrion had done really well with trading, his portions of this might have been more of a Spiffing Brit style "Trading at Wasteland Weekend is Perfectly Balanced with No Exploits" video.
I want this to be a board game. I have Wasteland Express and Robinson Crusoe. If they could shack up with Leisure Suit Larry, and have a baby… chef's kiss. I really like the Title / Occupation being promoted like LLL.
oh hey i remember this from dragula
We're actually playing with 7.8 billion people
I wonder if you can see @criken anywhere
You lost me at paying to pay a toy horse
Wholesome and awesome video! I don't think I'll survive the wasteland 😅
This is great
aw this was lovely! ❤
Fantastic stuff!
This was fun to watch!
Lovely! I so enjoyed watching this❤
I live in the netherlands and i think i really want to go here now and just explore! I want to "play" as a wandering dealer that plays games with strangers and builds a reputation as the shaman of luck. I honestly think im going to now save up to go here alone and live out what looks like the most fun time of a life time. Thank you for this video cause its making me really excited
It's Ticker from Tick Tock! Thanks for the lovely shout-out and a wonderful look at Wasteland! It's never a fleecing when I can get a Wastelander what they need, even if what they need is to not carry around heavy stuff 😀
Looks fkin awesome
This feels like a differently themed example of what Evermore could have been, but never would achieve. I love the commitment to theme from everyone involved!
A major social event that doesn't include corporate sponsorships, price gouging, or cynical consumerism? This is truly the end of the world and I approve.
You guys never disappoint, absolutely amazing
Absolutely stunning. What a beautiful story and insight into a lovely community!! Thank you so much for putting this out there!
I thought LARPing the apocalypse is what we all signed up for IRL?
What a video!! loved it!
This event looks so damn rad. Been wanting to get my passport, and go for years…this has rekindled that urge! Maybe someday…
this is incredibly cool
Damn, this was very well put together all around.
I love how many attendees commented on this video.
And it was a really cool video, the event looks like an absolute blast

I've got huge Station Eleven vibes from this.
"This is all about peace and love and kindness" 🤌✨
This was beautiful. Well done PMG 🙂
I went to a party called wastelands once. It looked… different.
is this like burning man but not pretending to be spiritual ?
nah they didn't need to do that. just go some poor neighbourhoods in the country. it is the real deal.
How many pushups?
"ALL OF THEM!"
I don't need to head out into the desert to experience the end of the world.
I'm doing it right now, so are you.
THIS IS SO COOL
