“Talkative Tri”

Diablo 4 hater trash talks Path of Exile 2, but seriously…it’s not all sunshine and rhoas for POE2. I would like to highlight five aspects of POE2 I am fearful of as we march toward GGG’s release of the next massive aRPG. Fret not, I remain a beacon of positivity throughout. POE1 players…

  1. After hearing Jonathan talk about how important the soul and feel of the game is and that is why some 'QOL' features are not implemented i am 100% sold on PoE 2. Game devs who 'get it' are so goddamn rare

  2. I hope they don't take the huge imbalance from PoE 1 into PoE 2, for an example, even with capped armor, and resistances, you get one shotted from mobs off screen.

  3. Love this kind of videos and it is important to listen to different opinions.

Flasks: It seems strange to me that they gave more importance to the flasks, if it is normally considered an outdated mechanic and I rather expected them to eliminate them like the hundreds of similar games.

Performance: These RPGs are supposed to be simple and not consume so much, but they consume quite a bit in large events where the density of monsters and effects fill the screen. Poe is the only RPG where I have had those problems.

Builds: Let's be honest, poe2 is just starting, let's not expect everything from poe1 to be in poe2 and like other titles they will add more content per season. It will be a slow process and will also have many new builds.

Difficulty: I like how they're handling it and everything I've seen so far. Now lowering the complexity while maintaining the same depth will help many new players.

Community split: I have no experience in this, I don't know how it will really affect, I understand that this can directly affect community, trade, content, every aspect that involves and requires people.
After 6 years of playing POE1 (tired, burnout, repetitive), I'm willing to abandon it completely to just play POE2.

  4. to answer the Title, i dont know whats the worst thing about poe2 but, i sure know the worst thing about GGG is how isolated they are with their Forum community during their work time(?)
but how connected they are with a community on the poe discord in their free time (lol). the discord and reddit isnt even hosted by ggg themself but some random dudes on a power trip that ban you for every shitty reason you can imagine, be it as simple as disagreeing with one of their mods, taking things completely out of context and so on. the poe and poe2 subreddit is so toxic people simply downvote you for simply reaosnable feedback/critique or regarding poe2 subreddit it you ask a question, then getting called out on why my profile has mostly negative karma, which the answer to, i got all my negative karma "exclusively" from the poe/2 subreddits, because of how toxic this community is. i met so many cool people on other subreddits tho.

the devs of ggg are completely disconnected with their "official" forum and wont show any sign of life over there while people trolling each other and getting muted by mods.

they made it really smart and easy for themself's to just say "oh yeah we do what we want in our free time like engaging with the reddit/discord community" but when it comes to their forum they just dont care.

  5. Im a huge poe fan. 15k hour noob. I dont like the direction poe 2 is taking. The wells just sounds pointlessly anoying. I was hyped when they first leaked it. But the more it shows the less i want to play

  6. Wells docLeave. Edit: GW1/GW2 Sadge, if only ArenaNet had the foresight to leave a skeleton crew developing GW1 for the forseeable future rather than just cutting it off. All these years later, I wonder what they thought of the success that WoW Classic achieved on launch

The community split is most definitely the big worry, but less in the sense of negativity towards eachother as I feel that's always an inevitability in these circumstances. Rather, I worry that the split will hurt GGG financially, if for example PoE2 is received poorly on launch and they lose players from the franchise all together as a result. I hope they can do what they are setting out to do, but I'll need to see it to believe it.

  7. All i want is from poe 2 is simplicity more friendly for players no crazy sruff complex systems always and the items rng is so badly you cannot get a perfect item ever

  8. What's gonna happen with wells is that people will either still find a way to perma-flask, or simply not use flasks at all. "consumable resource that you have to think when to use" simply just feels like shit to play in arpgs.

  9. Ok OniTri going to try channel that positivity and play the role of regular positive Tri here:

    1. Wells – The great news is it is an incredibly easy thing to turn on or off by them if Beta proves people hate it.
    2. Performance – As you mentioned. Limited higher skill speed caps should help. In Alexander Sannikov (Tech Dev) we trust!
    3. Diversity -This is GGG, they have never let us down here and there is no way they will let it happen now. Even if they need to change things in beta for this. They will.
    4. Difficulity – I think this is the most 'difficult' one to fix for them IMO. As you said, most of us cant wait to have a harder time, what the broader appetite for that wIDK. Fair point OniTri
    5. Community Split – You know how they say Loving something is setting it free. Let us be free to enjoy our style give love to embrace those who enjoy different things. easier to do when it doesn't effect our game. 😉

Hahaha ok ok I'm doing being blindingly positive. Love the points here mate.

My biggest concern is that they wont consolidate and cut enough of the old content out of fear that people will miss it, and we will end up with content bloat instead of having a more streamlined experience that gets built on over time.

  10. I dream about slower gameplay for years now. In Poe1 if you dont have fast enough build you cant finish some mechanics. Breach, Alva misions, delirium mirrors and even legion. Those are examples of mechanics that in current affliction league bricked my DoT build. You just cant kill those monsters fast enough. I made whole atlas with my bleed build and every boss but I cant kill most yellow mobs in time. 😂 Even with HH. Sad like fvck. I dont like it and i think this league sux. I hope they bonk projectile builds with nerf hammer. Lag spikes are disgusting this league because of bs tornado shot. One skill to break the servers gj GGG.

  11. 5, whiile you are completly right, do no tforget you do not need to put on the auras, so basically now you have one click instead of potential 4-6 😀

4, I feel the recomended 2060 is quite a beast I have not that many issues on it, with PoE 1 either.

3, I mean that is a fear I have also. I fear that stun and freeze will be a must in every character and that takes away from the diversity. Like Determination

2, As a new player I died more of random mobs in the campaign then against meriveil, or any boss. YOU CAN LEARN bosses, and as Neon told us that is bad, and will be fixed. (kinda first time ARPG player, before the 3000 hours)

1, that is gonna happen one time unfortunatelly. 1 bad league and people will start to go: It is because of the shitty 1/2. Those poopoo devs love the other game more.

  12. Many poe people will most likely get surprised, how little they can play/understand POE. Many people just follow guides and consider themselfs veteran, because they managed to follow a guide until they kill all ubers for multiple seasons, but what are they gonna do when there are no guides for several days/weeks? Many poe people are basically GAMBA addicts, so what are they gonna do without all the loot explosions, does it feed the addiction or not? We've seen hints with the ruthless game mode. I will enjoy poe2 no matter what, but it might not be true for huge amount of people.

  13. Based on the graphs about player base retention, over 50% of the player base bails on a league after 30 days, so population split may be not be a thing, but some people may stop playing 1 of the games because they like the other.

  14. The worst things is that we gotta wait 5 months for the beta mister talkative tri ! Stay fully hyped and unhinged (even if sometimes it's a bit too much but that's your brand kinda)

  15. My main desire would be for some sort of asynchronous trade. Not necessarily an auction house but I don’t have unlimited playing time and would rather be slaying baddies instead of trying to orchestrate a trade.

  16. Remember when at Exilecon 2019, Chris Wilson announced PoE 2 as an expansion to PoE 1, explaining that the intention was NOT to create a separate sequel because that would split the community? That was awesome. But somewhere along the way, feature creep piled on so many new "ideas" that GGG simply couldn't resist the idea of doing just that. Every time I see that smirk on Jonathan Rogers' face, I know who really got what he wanted. ='[.]'=

  17. A auctionhouse is what I really want them to change their mind on. And obviously being forced to do the campaign on every chat. That is crazy. Those who like it should feel free to do it.

  18. Hey I don't usually comment on videos but I gotta say I've been really enjoying your content and your style, reading some negative comments in some of your last videos kinda enfuriated me a bit but watching this video directly addressing some of those while maintaining your style and positive attitude cemented my opinion on you dude. So +1 sub and all that, please keep it up and don't let anyone bring you down, thx for the content!

  19. #1 is that eventually, just due to inertia caused by being the first game, the first game will die, and be replaced by PoE2, which is much more click intensive. That's going to be rough on those of us older gamers who ain't blessed with good timing for a Dark Souls style ARPG.

  20. 13:10 I like your content, but the nausea inducing effects during the banter segment were not welcome. Please consider refraining from adding too many after-effect "enhancements" like this. Congratz on the growth of the channel. Your format was working well previously. No need to get too "fancy" 🙂

  21. I have concerns regarding the commitment to continue supporting and developing POE1, considering we're more than a month into Affliction league and *still haven't gotten 3.23.1*. If they're not going to fully support POE1 before POE2 is live, what reason do we have to believe them?

  22. With two games it's more likely that one of them will be the arpg someone wants to play. For example they can't slow down poe1 but they can make poe2 slower, they can't make drastic changes to loot drops and crafting because folks have put thousands of hours into it but they can make those changes to poe2. The main thing I'm worried about is FOMO. Three months already isn't enough time for me to complete a character to satisfaction, so without them slowing down the league cycle I'm going to be feeling the FOMO even harder.

  23. Speaking as a souls player, I really hope that it's an arpg version of a souls game, lol. Elden Ring was pretty popular despite being too difficult for a lot of people, I don't think it's a huge problem, especially in an arpg since you can level up for tough content. Also I'd say you can't really make a game easy enough for someone to get into it if it's not their thing.

Also regarding the community split, I agree that this kind of thing could be a game killer, but I semi-see that as a positive as well, because my biggest fear regarding poe 2 is that the community will whine about it being too slow, and it's annoying that they actually have to engage with normal monsters instead of killing them with one click and so on, and then power creep will happen until gameplay is all about the zoom, like it is in PoE 1. My hope is that with PoE 1 still being around, people who want to go fast will stick with PoE 1.

I totally agree about wells, though I want to at least give them a chance before I declare them to be trash. I suspect though, that no matter how they feel, by the 100th time you click on one it will feel tedious. That being said, it seems like they're open to changing this if there's enough community backlash; in that case I'd like it if they remove them from endgame first, then from the campaign though, because it seems to me that they might be okay if you only have to bother with them during campaign.

  24. POEE probably got a new branch for POE 2 to support the new mechanics both client side and backend. But lets assume they still use the same renderer to easely support MTX sharing.
Even then it's up to the developer team to keep the game running under spec requirements.
Don't know if anyone have noticed but minimum and recommended specs have bumped a level for POE2.
Still "runs" on a potato, but I think we all have experienced what happens when things get crazy.

  25. #1: The "Split". Don't put this on your list and don't worry about it. The whingers will whinge. Games don't live or die on these things. People's reasoning is inherently flawed when it comes to how they imagine development resources. The rest is just heel dragging drama.
