  1. My Litespeed titanium bike frame cracked through no fault of my own. I never even rode over a curb, for example. Litespeed wouldn't give me the time of day. Said the lifetime warranty was warranted for normal wear and tear(?!?!?). The frame cracked due to normal wear and tear? AND it is not covered by the lifetime warranty??

  2. Not all steels are created equal. Take XCR for example. Does not rust and because it has an incredibly high tensile strength it can be made to very very thin tubes and hence also light

  3. How much did Lightspeed pay you for this ad? "Devil dork discs", you lost a lot of credibility there. There are some advantages to discs, nothing wrong with both disc and rim being available. Again, there is not one answer, it depends on priorities.

  4. This is heavily biased against carbon fiber. I don't know ANYONE who has to replace their carbon bike every few years, ridiculous statement. I have one that's 10 years old, no cracks or issues. So why does that Litespeed have a carbon fork and carbon wheels? And your chart, you weight every category the same. That's not realistic, because depending on your needs, some categories would be weighted more heavily. So, interesting, but not the final word on the subject by any means.

  5. Rim brake and carbon wheels doesn't go well together. Other than that either one is fine.
All my past steel bikes started to become rusty after 2yrs and were over after 7yrs. Alu frame got a crack after 5yrs and corroded near steel components. I bought a used carbon, its 10yrs old now and still in good shape. Even had a crash and needed repair.
So to my experience your rating is biased.

  6. Their Ghisalo was even lighter…and was like riding something made of boiled spaghetti …Comfortable, yes, but……
Light, stiff and Ti doesn’t mix very well.
