  1. Tar sands are a net zero return operation, meaning it burns more petroleum in the long run, getting it out of the ground and processing it than the operation yields! Farmers are the answer ,we can grow canola and wheat which can easily be turned into fuel for diesel motors and ethanol for gas burning engines!

  2. I heard years ago that to make a barrel of refined oil from the tar sands would cost about $110.00. By now it is probably more. So unless the price of oil is far above that, the tar sands are not competitive.

  3. And major damage to the environment, and then the Americans think that because it is piped to the United States, that somehow thatโ€™s going to help with the oil supply and the prices in this country. Go figure.

Thank video.the oilsand come long way from teacher clark from.unv. of alberta.the time spend in lab is just insane.the alberta gov't own small plant south edmonton for lab test.yes they have lots problems with pollution but this is cut back a lots from 1976 when i visist fort mcmurray.the science will change in future is just time period.sagd change a lot too but improuve day by day.canada now is big player opec laugh at oilsand not anymore.the downstream production improuve with new equipment and production.the people own at lots too premiere manning,lougheed,klein push oilsand not ottawa period.๐Ÿ˜Š
