Notice how the C-4 does NOT explode when the line charge hits the ground. That’s because it is an impact-resistant explosive. The line charge only goes off when the detonator in the line is exploded, which creates a shock wave strong enough to overcome the shock resistance of the C-4. safety feature of C-4, which is also a high-explosive, is why it is so popularly used for many military and civilian demolition projects.

Except for the more advanced anti tank mines that have ballasts in them to ignore sympathetic detonations. It’s a useful tool but it has been successfully circumvented to the point it’s not deployed very often.
That can also be useful at taking out Taliban convoys 😅
