I think those pico adapters are dangerous! 1 cpu power cable is rated for 150W and one pcie power cable is 75 watts so how in the world are you going enough watts for the whole motherboard, cpu, riser, and whatever else out of one pcie 6 pin port? That thing is going to start a fire!
i would rather buy 450-500 watt cooler master psu, they have 5 years warranty, have resale value, cost around 20-30 bucks
config 6 seems the best. less parts to go bad and cheaper for you.
2x 2000w dell psu
2x x15 boards
16x pico 300w psu
16x 12” 16 awg pcie cable
I run ATX with Y Splitters. Cheap and gets the job done. 2 rigs powered by minimum gold rated PSUs.
I think it depends on how you're going to have these spread out. The challenge with config 6 will be the length of those splitters. If you think that's going to be a problem, then I'd go with config 4. More PSUs, but more flexibility with cable management.
Use unmineable, pays more then nicehash by at minimum 20%
Config 6 is the way to go. Get the Veteran Minor to make you some decent length splitters. It would be super reliable.
Few power supply like 750 watt or 850 watt if you check backside of the SMPS you can see 2 CPU connection slots means with 1 SMPS you can connect 2 motherboard you will see CPU 1 CPU 2 written in back of SMPS
Great video panda! Very helpful info!
Do 24 pin splitters for the lols
Config 6, I don’t trust the Pico. I don’t and will never use the Pico.
I run 3 rigs per 1 550w psu
Legit bro I just get 500w thermal takes for 39$ and they work fantastic
Those $89 hp psu's on paralel miner, I am buying 2 for $30 on ebay
1200W server PSU with 3x or 4x of the 300W PCIE pico power adapter. I have my cpu rigs hanging from a wire-frame rack. Good density and airflow.
Try out the 1,400 watt Dell psu’s. Never used them before but so they’re so cheap I think it’s worth trying. I am going to order a few today as well to see how well they work.
Config 6 with veteran miner longer splitter cables
server PSUs and picos for sure.
those ATX splitters only work reliably if you have identical motherboards and identical BIOS settings. I've been there, done that.
if you still have open frame gpu mining rig rep the bord and cpu of them then you can mine both gpu cpu on same rig
When iam plug out the GPU my motherboard wont turn on. Help what must i do? Iam using msi b450 a pro max
I would use config6, your margins are thin, the Dell PSU's are loud.
Always go with what you have on hand to save money on your ROI and to get running quicker. But if you know you need all the other stuff in the future, you might as well just buy what you need to replace from what you salvage
Whole thing is to get up and running quicker than everybody else cause you’re not the only one doing this
I'm already using 750w/850w psus with 24 pins splitters and it works really good, I think you should take a look at where you will put all the cpu mining stuff, will be easier to managed how and what kind of psu you should utilize, related to the space and cable management.
I use the 300w pico PSU for 100% of all my CPU rigs except the EPYCs I have. Mount a Bitmain 1600w PSU in the center of a wire rack, then hook into these. I run 8 CPU rigs per PSU. Any of them that are too far apart, you can get a 6pin to 6pin extender really cheap.
keep it simple . config 6 is my vote . USA
I just can't see running the 3900x rig at 145 watts something is not right, 120 to 125 watts max i could see. 145 watts is not efficient hash per watt
I use config 6 — repurposing old mining rigs — was using 5/6 pcie b450 and ryzen 5/3600 during boom with one of 1 to4 pcie splitters. Rock solid set up. Mining boards were just way too expensive.
config 6 is great, but option 5 is more flexible in placement, the 24 pin splitter is short
From 2018 until early 2022 I ran HP server PSUs, along with Parallel Miner (PM) X11s and PM PICOs. I never had any issue with any of their products. Until I switched to Octominers, I always ran the PM products for power. One thing I noticed about the Dell 1400w PSU, the fans are louder than the HP 1200w fans. In any case, go which ever route is cheapest for you, this is about making money… sure you need to make content too, so maybe show everyone how to set it up each way, in different combinations. But for the majority, the cheapest route, being you already own the hardware.
#6 with a ~180tdp gpu on each board profit switching
Go with the safest and most reliable. To have a headache and fire risk isn’t worth the couple hundred savings
